Asian Fusion quickly became our favourite curry house when we discovered it early on this year. the decor is a bit odd (modern but clinging on to curry house table cloths), poppadom and pickle tray are excellent if you can't manage a starter. naan bread are perfectly fluffy and charred. we haven't had a bad dish there yet, in fact I'm just about to book a table for tonight!

Went last night- even on a rainy Tuesday night the place was full, a testimony to the quality of the restaurant. Despite the business of the place, service was efficient and warm. Every course was excellent, and if you're going to indulge in dessert you must have the warm chocolate pot. The best dining out experience I've had in a long time.

This is our favourite Italian restaurant, if only for the tomato garlic bread. We've sampled most of their dishes, and each as been spot on. Friendly greeting and friendly service

Had an amazing birthday party, staff were impeccable, food was amazing, especially the desserts.

Having discovered this restaurant through this site I was amazed how accurate the reviews were. I took my partner early on Saturday evening and the whole experience was magical from start to finish - comfortable seating, amazing decor, fantastic ambience attentive but not intrusive service and of course the food and wine were absolutely wonderful. I shall certainly be returning but apart from this review I think I'll keep the place secret.

The food here is absolutely fabulous. I have travelled and worked in the Middle East and the food is exactly the same as you get there. The staff work very hard and are so nice to all the customers. The owner should be very proud of his business. I recommend it very highly

I had my first date there Had my wedding reception there, and every year have a meal for our anniversary. The food is so good the building is beautiful a place for a romantic meal or special occasion. I don? believe there is a better place and I have been to a lot of restaurants.

I took my partner for a meal on Friday night having heard good feedback on Jem & I. I was not to be let down... On arriving the hospitality shown was excellent, full descriptions on all food and helpful with wine choice. Starters were wonderful, mains exceptional and the wine of the week excellent. Will definitely go back to Jem & I to experience again.

Last Saturday I visited stock. I must say I was missing that level of service from a long time in Manchester. We arrived ten mins late and they had a queue of people waiting for tables as it was absolutely packed. The front of the house staff was very helpful we were seated in bar area where given the menu and drinks and were told specials of the day. It did not feel like we waited 20 mins for table. And the food was excellent. Through out the dinner service was distinctive. Without any doubt this is best place to dine in Manchester.

Third time we have dined here and again not disappointed at all. Food tasted great and the service was great too. Suggest people look at the offer to eat early on stated evenings as it works out very inexpensive for a great meal.

It's so great having restaurant within walking distance, so we both can drink while we're eating. And it's not just because of this that it's worth recommending - really really great food, very British cuisine - If they have anything with black pudding on the menu - order it, you won't be disappointed. Excellent wine menus with a good range available by the glass. Their puddings are some of the best I've tasted (and I do like my pudding). If I have any criticisms it's that the menu is constantly changing, which is usually a good thing, but my favourite starter and liquid centre chocolate pudding both disappeared, but I've had something equally good in both instances. Also, it's not a place to go if you really hate Jazz, and I really really do hate it. It's not just Tuesday's when it's Jazz night, they do tend to play it constantly the rest of the time. For all I can tell, it might as well be the same 'tune' on endless loop. Enough ranting - despite this, and if you knew me, you'd realise how big a concession this is to me - I still go regularly and have a great time. The fixed price menus are always good value and especially the early doors offer. The kids menus are varied and a good price at around £4 including drink and ice-cream AND an activity pack (Should be compulsory in restaurants). Finally, it's completely non-smoking!

We went to New Emperor for a pre theatre meal, the food was great, we will certainly go again. Only problem was that it was so busy that this reflected in the service which would probably been okay if we were not restricted by the fact that we had tickets for a show. We were constantly looking at the time wishing they would hurry up with the food. Still the food was very enjoyable when it came and we made the show with minutes to spare. This is one of the best Chinese Restaurants in city centre in my opinion, well worth a visit.

This really is a lovely pub and the food is great, pub food is mostly plastic type pre done and warmed up style but here the food is fresh and home made, the apple pie with pouring cream is lovely and it's not badly priced for the food you get... really good...we go often a very relaxed atmosphere

We went to the Laughing Buddha for a meal after reading the good reviews. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The restaurant was a little quiet midweek which is a shame because this place ought to be full every night. This is simply great food. We had the buffet meal for two. it was all delicious. I have never had prawn toast this good, the main dishes were exceptionally good but by the time these were served we already content. We will be going here again for sure.

Small local Indian facing southern cemetery and used to be a Greek place called Zorbas..... very very nice, extremely friendly and excellent service, not the most romantic of venues but definite ticks in the right boxes, so if you fancy real good Asian grub and your in the area i will highly recommend.......and its cheap.

Having a small child, our nights out are limited and so we have to choose wisely. A wrong decision on a Saturday night and that? it until the next month or two.... We fancied steak and so thought about going to the Gaucho again, but also wanted something new and not the laborious drive and taxi journey home from town. So having had a look on Sugarvine we decided to give the House in Altrincham a go. I am so glad we did. We managed to get a table at short notice and were not disappointed. The starters were great but nothing amazing, although it was the first restaurant I could take my veggie mother and she would be able to eat nearly everything, rather than the veggie section being an afterthought! The main course.......Blimey...... If you like your steak..... Forget the Gaucho, head here. I had the fillet, I'm a bit of a steak snob, rare and it was done to perfection. The other half had the rump-medium rare and again it was like a cooking lesson on how they should be cooked. They came with the most beautiful chips which were so potatoey and lovely. And the pepper sauce/pan juices were mouth watering. Our dessert was again superb, the other half had ice cream which not only had the lovely vanilla bits in but also came with its own side dish of hot choc sauce...hmmmm I was really cheeky and asked for strawberries which weren't on the menu but they did dutifully provide. In a fantastic huge dish with whipped cream and pouring cream..... It was like they had read my mind on my favourite dessert. I am writing this at 23.19 after the night in question.. I can't wait to go back!

I'm eagerly awaiting the time when I have the opportunity and/or spare cash to dine here again (hopefully soon). I have eaten in many restaurants in Manchester and this is surely one of the best. The food is excellent, not too fussy, with the emphasis on quality ingredients expertly cooked. If you're in a simple food kind of mood I thoroughly recommend the fish and chips with Manchester caviar, which just melts in your mouth. The beef is gorgeous too. The service is good but could be a touch better in a restaurant of this calibre, but that's about my only-very mild- complaint.
