Barburrito – Manchester City CentreA refreshing change from the usual lunchtime sarnie. The burritos are generous in size and the fillings, chosen to your own preference, are both fresh and appetizing! Definitely recommend a look but be careful not to get addicted...I? on my third meal there this week!!
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreI tried eating at Barburrito just before Christmas after it was described as being the best place to have a light lunch or evening meal in Manchester. A lofty claim!! But one that after numerous visits to the place is entirely justified. Barburrito is a Mexican grill, with a very simple menu of burritos, tacos and quesadillas. All of the food tasted so fresh, and having spent a large amount of time in South American captures the essence of Mexican fast food, The flavours are great, the place looks stunning yet unpretentious and the price is amazing. Grilled chicken burrito, large coke and nachos for £4.50. This restaurant deserves some serious commendation and is a great addition to the Manchester food and drink scene.
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreA cold and wet night was quickly put aside upon entering this attractive and atmospheric restaurant. The menu is more than ample with an excellent range of dishes. The fillet steak is highly recommended as is the cheese platter. Service was pleasant but a little slow. Overall: Nice place, good food but worth the wait. I will revisit.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreThe first authentic Lebanese Restaurant in Cheshire. Homely atmosphere. Excellent choice of foods which change daily. Open Monday to Saturday for breakfast lunch - dinner available in the other venue in Bramhall. hard to find a better restaurant. GREAT FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND WEDDING, SEMINARS ETC.,
JAS JAS JAS – CheadleGreat food, wonderful cocktails and fantastic setting, in all a wonderful evening. Will be recommending it to all my friends and family!
Harvey Nichols Second Floor Restaurant – Manchester City CentreMy family and I have been regular customer for over 26 years eating in and take out. David is making the BEST pizza outside Bella Italia. The rest of the dishes are also good. Recommend the "Italian pizza" or the special, American, Irish you see I can make up my mind! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Davardi’s Pizza Bar – WorsleyAbsolutely fantastic - we need more veggie restaurants! Completely no smoking too, which is a bonus. Service was excellent - very friendly and helpful staff, with prompt service. Contemporary decor, relaxed atmosphere, good music (I didn't find it loud, as someone else said - maybe it's been turned down!) and a good mix of diners. Food was outstanding - non veggies would love it - and please try the garlic and rosemary bread to start - it's amazing! My only minor criticisms are a)they should have a website and b) perhaps not rely too heavily on cheese on the main courses (3 out of 5 had cheese in), as veggie food often gets slated for being cheese and nothing else. Will definitely be going back. A real find.
Greens – DidsburyOn arrival we were pleasantly welcomed and shown through to the new, airy, two sectioned dining area. The service was pleasant and attentive initially and we were quickly looked after for our drinks and food order. We had a mildly pleasant glass of the house Claret to go with our food. The starters we had were Mussels in a very agreeable, if voluminous, scrumpy sauce and a delicious, if ever so slightly too cold, soup. As we were there on a Friday Night and having a maximum of £20 fix per head, the choices were probably less than you would normally expect, although sufficiently varied to cover most tastes I would have said. My wife and I both went for the Roast Lamb. For some reason any offer of condiments didn't materialise in our little corner of the restaurant despite there appearing to be plenty on offer elsewhere. By the time we realised we couldn't be bothered to ask for them, but it was a slightly annoying oversight on the part of the waiting staff. The Lamb was wonderfully cooked, but was slightly fatty. I did ask for extra gravy which turned up neatly in a little pot with spoon for ladling across my food; a nice little touch. Vegetables turned up in a shared dish and all mixed in together, which might have been a pain if we hadn't both liked all of the vege therein. Again it was all very pleasant without really taking us to epicurean heights. Finally puddings were a sticky toffee pudding (not as good as the Ivy's, according to the missus!) So all-in-all, a pleasant and enjoyable experience without really being the culinary delight we had been anticipating. Informal discussions with the staff however did start to shed some light on this. The place has recently had major overhauls, the new seating area, new Kitchen where less than 4 months old. I fear that the English Lounge may not be able to live up to its newly won reputation unless it irons out some of the 'niggles' that can just take make the difference between OK and great. I do wish them all the best of luck.
English Lounge – Northern QuarterIt's got cheap prices but the service, ambience and food of a very expensive restaurant. The staff are very friendly and warm and attentive - we felt like VIPs! - the tables are large and not packed together like in some other restaurants, and the decor is lovely and modern. The food itself - and you get a lot for your money - was gorgeous and faultless. It's good whether you go for a romantic meal for two or as a large party. And it's even great for vegetarians. My girlfriend and I had a great time I can't recommend it highly enough!
Desi Lounge – FailsworthJust been for lunch on a Sunday. Stunningly simple and delivered extremely well. Only a small menu however a very small price £20.00 per person inc Drinks!!
