Our favourite place, always an enjoyable and pleasant experience, food varied and good, service excellent.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Hotel on the 1st May booked a meal at 7pm I had the steak and stout pie with mushy peas my wife had the fish and chips I have to say the meal was excellent

Really friendly staff. Nothing is too much bother. Nice clean rooms. Lovely hot rainfall shower. Toiletries good quality products. Our room had a huge double bed, very atmospheric and very clean. Already looking to book another stay. The pub blends the modern and the old very well

I eat out a lot, especially pub food and often fish and chips and I can honestly say The Wheatsheaf’s fish and chips were the best I've sampled in a long time. Fish so fresh, batter so crisp and thin, everything really hot with delicious triple-cooked chips — and, for once, the right portion of chips too, not overwhelming the dish. I can recommend the Roberto soup too, quirky but very tasty. I scoffed the lot ! Very pleasant and efficient service and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back even though I live quite a way away.

Very nice food served by very friendly & pleasant staff. All enjoyed in a very nice & relaxed setting. Lovely decor in the pub , clean & modern but also kept it s old world charm! We will be back to sample more on this menu!

Wonderful old pub with a quaint, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, welcoming staff. Great food and good selection of local beers. Highly recommended.

Food was served in a reasonable time. We both enjoyed it. I had Cobb salad and curried Haloumi fries, hubby had the burger. It’s also dog friendly so that also important to us too

Lovely food and surroundings. The curried halloumi fries starter was amazing. Really like the authentic home cooking and the service was brilliant. Lovely staff and excellent service. Very friendly atmosphere and very well priced for the quality of the food we had. Will be returning soon, possibly to have a stay over.

Had the nicest meal in a long time on Saturday night at the Tavern. Sam and Brooke are wonderful hosts and the food is just amazing. We will be back soon thats for sure.

Ate at the Wheatsheaf 2 x nights as we were stopping over. The dinners were lovely - in particular the Steak and Pepper pie were delicious. Service was efficient and friendly despite how busy they were. Breakfast was made to order, good choices - food tasty but think they could be more generous with the portion sizes eg: only 1 x chipolata sausage and 1 slice of toast. Should offer more tea/coffee.

This was our 3rd visit and each time we have enjoyed the food . The staff are friendly and the service is always with a smile . I run holiday lets and always steer my guests here. The pub has loads of character set in a gorgeous little hamlet . Just love this place .
