Lovely Sunday lunch with the little one and my parents. Service was quick despite being busy. Food enjoyed by all and colouring thoroughly enjoyed by little one. Only complaint was that smokers smoke right outside the door, which is open, bringing smoke into the eating area.

The atmosphere on a Friday is great and a lot of new faces who are all helpful and welcoming and that just adds to the delicious food. The cobb salad is gorgeous with avocado, eggs, pecans, chicken breast and bacon plus the expected salad leaves but this is more protein than salad so no skimping here and ordered garlic bread without cheese which is my first choice now for the best garlic bread and I love my garlic bread. My friend’s son wanted something plain and this was arranged with no problems and averted a meltdown. We did have to ask for the dessert menu twice but to be fair it was crazy busy. Definitely book in advance if possible.

Alas we did not stay to eat. The table for 2 was located next to the stairs with barely a space to pass on either side - a bit like a broom cupboard. I was told it was a pity I didn’t phone to request where I wanted to sit. I won’t be returning in a hurry.

Very friendly, helpful staff. We arrived with one extra than we had booked for. Despite the fact that they were full, they managed to organise our booking and sort out the seating without it appearing to be a problem and with a good sense of humour. The menu was very interesting; the food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked! All in all, an excellent Sunday lunch. We hope to return very soon.

Service was sloppy. Only 3 meals arrived. We had to wait for the fourth and then it was not what we ordered. Then waited for cutlery which arrived after 2 requests. Finally we were charged for the incorrect meal, which added £12 to the meal. It really spoilt the occasion.

Great food, lovely staff, brilliant surroundings. Will go back again fir more of the same please.

We booked for Sunday dinner and it was fantastic. Home made food, great service would definitely recommend after a day of activities.

We had a lovely meal at the Wheatsheaf. From the initial friendly welcome, to the great service from the staff & very nice food. Can’t fault anything. Highly recommend a visit.

Amazing food, great service! 1000% recommend

A lovely welcome from the barman who made us feel really welcome. We were a group of 6 and everyone loved the food. All the meals came together with just a nice wait time. The only downside to our meal, we wanted to try the puddings but weee too full. Next time we might go for one of the delicious looking starters and a dessert.

Eaten at Wheatsheaf many times and the standards do not fall- great food and friendly service Travel from Wigan for the area and pub but always worth the journey

Lovely cozy country pub in a great location. The staff were welcoming & friendly & service was quick & efficient. Excellent Sunday lunch & food quality. We would definitely return!
