We has a delicious meal at the Wheatsheaf last saturday evening. the staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. the food was very good and just the right amount in terms of portion sizes. it was our first visit to the pub and overall a very good experience and we will certainly be back in the near future.

Can't fault it. Had Sunday lunch, the Jan and the veggy option. Both were really nice. Good portions. Lovely point to go with it. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

we came in for Sunday lunch as the pub was highly reccomended. ordered roast dinners for me and the children and my Wife ordered lamb shank. The staff were friendly and helpful. When the food came, my wife’s lamb shank was extremely tough and also very pink to the point of being raw near the bone. My roast came with one slice of beef which was dry and tough. The vegetables were excellent. A couple at the adjacent table bought two large dogs with them and proceeded to feed them with them sat at the table - i’ve never seen this in my life before! ( obviously not the pubs fault but none the less i couldn’t believe what i was seeing) Shame the food was poor as the pub was lovely with a nice atmosphere. perhaps we were just unlucky and they were having an off day.

A new find, and one we will definitely be coming back to! Lovely atmosphere for an evening meal and the best lamb I have had in years. Staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We enjoyed the relaxed yet refined atmosphere and sense of history too. 10/10.

We love the Wheatsheaf and the pretty village of Beetham, and consider it a local. The atmosphere is always good, but it’s also the right level of noise to have your own conversations. The food is consistently good pub food but the menu doesn’t change often enough for us to go more. Dog friendly, great service, tasty beer.

The meal was excellent as always and the service prompt and friendly. There was a nice buzz about the place too.

Met with our son here and were nicely welcomed and seated. We all had different meals and all were great quality well cooked and served promptly. Good choice of beers. Pleasant staff and prices reasonable for what you receive and we will definitely go back.
