A superbly pretty little cafe just off the bustle of Northumberland Street. Excellent tea and coffee, always very friendly service by the owner and other staff. The decor inside is ever so easy on the eye and makes the feel of the place nicely relaxed, along with the chilled music playing in the background. Excellent food & drink, excellent service, comfortable surroundings make for high recommendations.

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend and will definitely be going back. The Taste of Persia has an authentic feel about it and has a good choice of starters and mains, I would recommend the flat bread and selection of dips for starters, which were very tasty. For the main course I opted for the Barg which was fillet of lamb, which was succulent and tasted wonderfully char grilled. All the staff were friendly and the price is very reasonable, well worth a visit.

What a fabulous restaurant, I booked a table for my friend’s birthday who is a vegetarian, we all had a fantastic meal and one of the tastiest meals that I have had in a while. All the food was very fresh and filling and had rich flavours. Great as you can bring your own wine, which makes it considerably cheaper. The Sky Apple cafe gets booked up quickly and has a great atmosphere and staff are very accommodating, well worth a visit.

Excellent restaurant with a wide variety of tapas dishes which are all very tasty and very traditional. Every time I have eaten here its been busy which is always a good sign and has a vibrant atmosphere. You cannot book tables on a weekend unless it’s a table for four or over which is a shame as often you have to wait over an hour for a table. If you are a huge paella fan then I would recommend La Vina on Greys St and keep El Torero for tapas dishes.

brilliant place. i always drop in there after the trials of shopping and get some good home cooked food in me to cheer me up. really impressed by the homemade bread. am always glad to support individual enterprises over those beastly chains, i hope more people do too!

Me and my partner ended up at khan's last night after it had been highly recommended to us and we weren't disappointed! we've enjoyed the menu khan's had to offer, food tasted fresh and authentic it was absolutely gorgeous!I will never be able to eat your normal British Indian food again, it just doesn't compare. Service was impeccable throughout and ambience very relaxing.its also BYO which makes for a cheaper bill....I'll definitely be going again!!

Been twice now and took a number of colleagues from work with me on both occasions. Waiters could not be more helpful. I even ordered something that was not on the menu and the chef came up trumps!! Makes a change from restaurants where they cannot be bothered. Food was great and the wine was good and also reasonably priced. Would recommend this place to anybody.

me and my friend were in Newcastle for a girls weekend, from Edinburgh. A work colleague recommended that we try Pinochios's for food. It was fantastic, the best meal i have had in a while. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming and relaxed. I would defo recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a good meal. Next time im in Newcastle i will defo be going back Rhona Robertson, Edinburgh

Went for a birthday treat with family. 6 adults and 2 children. Children didn't want spicy food so we asked if there was anything else. Waiter said they could do fried chicken and chips and we agreed that would be very nice. We didn't ask the price (more fools us) and they didn't say. When we got the bill we found that most of the dishes were between £5-£7 but the children's meals were £9.95 EACH. Their meal consisted of about 5 or 6 pieces of chicken about the size of a 50p piece each, chips, peas and a bit of salad garnish. We all thought this was outrageous and they have lost some regulars through this.

i felt the manger and staff very arrogant and generally unpleasant the waiter on the occasion came to the table numerous time within the space of 25 minuets very excessive the food was ok, the risotto was good although it was a little hard, a few other members of my party didn't receive the same "high" standard the restaurant that we had be told to expect the ambience was well dead and the smell of the lace was of cleaning products seemed veery over powering.

I have been eating here for a number of years and recommend it most highly! Especially if eating before 9.00 p.m. - £7.95 for 4-course meal - excellent. Definitely give it a go. Food is superb.

I love this place, great to calling for bite to eat after work and its always consistently lovely. The salads are always fresh and well dressed but I have a particular taste for the pizza boschetto which I seem to order alot. Staff are always lovely and you never have to wait too long for food. people always recommend places to try but i keep coming back to La Vita as nothing is seems to compare.
