Food was absolutely delicious... all the courses were - best restaurant meal I've eaten in a long time. Excellent value for money and the service was brilliant. Will definitely eat here again. Highly recommended.

The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonGreat food and great service!
The Queens Arms Orlingbury – KetteringBoth the herb & feta chicken and the pork shoulder were absolutely delicious- Masterchef quality we thought! Service was very friendly but a bit slow - we waited almost an hour (the complimentary olives were very welcome). Would we go back? - yes in aheartbeat!!!
The Queens Arms Orlingbury – KetteringGreat meal last night here. The food was fantastic and all of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Queens Arms Orlingbury – KetteringBrought two friends over for a return trip to the QA and, as usual, were not disappointed. The food never fails to impress and as has been commented on before, is a cut above the rest, but still firmly grounded to traditional values. Portion sizes are just right. Not too big, not too small and you leave feeling happy. Anyone can over indulge, of course! Will continue to return to the QA, as long as these standards of food and friendliness remain - but I am somewhat biased, of course!
The Queens Arms Orlingbury – Kettering2 night stay at the Hopping Hare. Evening meal was fantastic. I had the fish and chips which was fantastic. Lovely light batter on the beautifully cooked cod + crispy chips ,peas & home made tartare sauce. My wife ‘ who’s is very particular on what she wastes her calories on had the cod loin with various veggies. She was ecstatic & thought is was superb. For sweet I had sticky toffee pudding which was unusually light ,the wife had the caramelised lemon tart. It was the best sweet she’d had. We came back from a pre-booked Indian and both had the lemon tart tonight. I agree it was superbe!
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonEnjoyed the hot cheese board and fish and chips as a main. Miss the curry sauce with the fish and chips!! Brownie dessert was delish. Music for atmosphere could have be more prominent/louder. Service was friendly and good as always
The Queens Arms Orlingbury – KetteringSuper food beautifully presented. Wine good. Service excellent!
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonMy friend & myself have been a few times & the service & food have always been excellent, however, on this occasion the service was very much lacking. We never received ours drinks until after our food had been served to us, my friend had gone to the bar, but no one was there, we did finally manage to get the waitress attention, she had by this time been chatting to a table of 3 men for about 15-20 mins. The person that had taken our drinks order, did then bring our drinks, saying that she thought we had them, but no-one had checked that was the case. Again the food is normally excellent & my certainly was, but not very hot, however, my friends was cold, it was returned & when it came back, looked like it had been microwaved to heat, as the potato my friend had taken a bite out of, was still on the plate. The whole experience was disappoiting.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonVery pleasant evening meal with family. Enjoyed the pork loin meal, the pork belly terrine part of the meal, was amazing. Well presented food. Attentive staff all very good.
The Hopping Hare – Northampton2nd time back since Tomas took over. Service much better than last time - was asked if wanted more drinks whereas wasn’t last time - keep improving! Pleased to see menu had changed not because bad last time but nice to have different options. Had the gambas to start - really nice but messy - finger bowl needed. Tomas’ bread is a bonus and delicious. Look forward to our next trip and hope to award at least another 5/5.
The Royal George – Market HarboroughAs always this restaurant made us feel welcome. The service was exemplary and the ambiance perfect for lunchtime eating. However, on this occasion I ordered a main meal risotto which was horrendously salty, to a point that I couldn’t swallow it. However, the replacement meal was lovely. We ordered two espressos , but these arrived dull and flat, very disappointing. All other food and drink we had was very enjoyable.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonLunch time business meeting was met by Supervisor, asked for a quiet table for two; proposed a number of tables finally suggesting a table of four which she felt would the most suitable. She was right it worked well. My colleague and I both had the Venison, it was perfect. Have had it once before and I was not disappointed. Highly recommended for both business and please; You could not fault the service and the food was excellent. Looking forward to going again. A well done to the Team.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonVisited for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. The food was amazing and had a great selection of sandwiches, desserts, homemade scones and tea. We were absolutely stuffed by the end so had to take some scones and desserts home with us! The staff were great and always checked if everything was ok and offered us regular tea refills. Will definitely be back for an afternoon tea!
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonLovely pub really nicely renovated. I’ve known it for 60 years but sadly haven’t lived in Cottingham then Middleton, for many years, but go back to The Royal George when I can. The food is lovely with an interesting menu. Try it out as soon as you can.
The Royal George – Market HarboroughA group of 8 of us dined here and stayed the night on Saturday 14 April. I don't often use the word "outstanding" but the food here really was just that. I had no idea the Hopping Hare had 2 rosettes when I booked but I fully understand why it has. It was just fabulous. The service, headed up by Sarah, was excellent as well, nothing was too much trouble and it was super-friendly and efficient. If I didn't live on the East coast of the UK it would be somewhere I'd visit frequently. Very well done, a really great establishment. Rooms were extremely good value for money too - wasn't expecting much to be honest of the B&B because it was so reasonable but again, fabulous.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonFabulous Sunday roast, friendly staff and great value for money .
