Lovely lunch yesterday. The food and service was brilliant. However the tables were quite close together and my friend and I found it difficult to hear each other due to other diners that were quite loud.

Food was very good, with prompt service. It helped that the restaurant was fairly quiet when we went, but no complaints at all.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch at Bread and Butter. We pre booked a table as we know it can be busy at lunch time, the online booking was straightforward. We felt welcome, not rushed and the food was prepared to a high standard, will definitely be back - thank you.

Such a bad experience. Food took well over an hour, service was poor, orders were wrong, we asked for sauce well in advance and by the time they came we’d basically already finished. We would always come here for special occasions i.e birthdays but no longer!

Had a great visit. There were a couple of small issues with breakfast but these were quickly resolved and the staff could not have been more helpful. Our favourite place to eat brunch and tapas the food is great and we are always made to feel really welcome

Not been to Maxys for a while but we were pleased with the food we had. A 'Go Large' sandwich. Relaxing environment & very pleasant friendly staff.

We enjoyed our tapas specials. My husband had the jerk chicken risotto which was very tasty, as was the pulled beef taco . I loved the king prawns in batter, which were succulent and moorish and I was very impressed by the extremely tasty salmon fish cakes and their dressing We both had the chicken goujons and found the chicken and its fruity salsa to be very good. We shared some Cajun lime and coriander fries. As usual service was friendly, if quite slow due to the restaurant being very busy.

I took my friends to Bread & Butter on Thurs night for the tapas, the food was amazing, well presented and nice and hot. There was a good atmosphere and the staff were lovely, overall it was really good value for money so thankyou for making it a lovely night, I’ll definitely be returning!

So many staff but waited forever to be served. Not one of them had a smile. Waited so long for someone to come and take our dessert order we gave up and left. All the lights went off like a power cut and no one explained or said anything and we felt like we needed to go. Even the lady host wasn’t friendly or smile. We said goodbye and thank you and she never said a word. Won’t be going back.

We haven’t visited for a while so was excited to meet up with family there. Booked a table for 1pm. Given menus and drinks served promptly. We waited 40 minutes for our food which consisted of a kids meal, a bowl of soup and 3 sandwiches. When the food eventually arrived the soup and one sandwich was missing. We were told it was on its way but then told it had been ‘missed’. We waited another 15 minutes for it to arrive by which time the others had finished their food. We got an apology but felt it wasn’t real. We were told they’d give us a cake in compensation which felt like an insult. The food was ok but not up to usual standards. My tuna and cheese melt was very dry which I didn’t mention at the time as nobody was available to tell

The venue is lovely, but I am sorry to say, the afternoon tea was a let down. The bread on both sandwiches was slightly hard around the edges, which I was surprised at. The coronation filling was nice, but a cheese savoury just seems to be a weak choice for an afternoon tea - I would expect something more interesting. The sausage roll was good, but the salmon fishcake was boring and I felt again you would expect something more interesting on an afternoon tea. The cakes are mini, which is fine to me if they are exciting to look at. However a flapjack and a brownie was such a let down! I'd booked the afternoon tea in advance, but it felt like I was given what was available on the day. I understand getting a brownie or a flapjack, but both of them and a scone as the only cakes, just seems a lack of care for customers paying £22.50 .
