Amazing food and great service very friendly staff

Loved the food, wine, service and ambience. Booth table downstairs with Sam guiding the wine menu and getting the taste wanted spot on. Chose a selection of seafoods , lamb cutlets off specials board, potatoe frittata, salad, roasted cauliflower which my husband didn’t want but actually loved, it was a treat throughout. Vibey atmosphere . I am not usually a fan of 2hr seating slots, but it was actually fine. Food went down well and we moved onto a local for later drinks down the road/ Great food, great atmosphere and would definitely rent

We were a group of 4 on Friday 30/5 . On arrival we were put on a table unsuitable to seat 4 and when asked to move to bigger table we were moved to one.The lady who moved use was very understanding and very helpful .All staff were excellent and despite being very busy provided great service.Food was cooked perfect for me but all of us enjoyed our meals and the visit overall was great value.Definatly will be booking again soon.

The food and service here are both amazing. The staff couldn't have done enough for us and the food was everything we'd hoped it would be! Cannot wait to go back

We had lunch on Wednesday and made use of the 3 for £20 offer. Great value and fantastic food. The service was great. We were even moved to a bigger table to accommodate my grandson in his pram. Nothing was too much trouble. Throughly enjoyable.

Excellent food and service, I highly recommend everything about the meal and atmosphere, certainly the best place to eat and enjoy time with friends.

A meal for three people on Sunday. Excellent food, prompt service and a friendly atmosphere. The Whitchaff is reliable on all counts. Thank you!

Good food, great service from friendly, well trained staff.

Usually tasty food, but avoid Sundays, as quite possibly the worst Sunday lunch I've ever had. Lumpy mash, small amount of watery gravy, roast beef as if it was out of a packet. Uncooked cabbage and a burnt Yorkshire. Didn't feel like the staff made it easy to say anything as not the friendliest.

We had an evening meal. OH had the Katsu curry and enjoyed it. I had the chicken shawarma salad. The chicken was tasty but the salad was mostly red cabbage and lettuce and cucumber which was a bit too sharp. The menu said ‘pickled slaw’ it definitely wasn’t that. It came with a flatbread which seemed superfluous to the meal. Our drinks order didn’t turn up until we asked about it. We had ice cream and cheesecake for pudding, both were very nice. The staff were friendly. We visited for old times sake as we knew the Whitchaff 25 years ago when we lived in the area. The meals were reasonably priced.

Lovely meal and the dessert was an absolute creation and scrumptious.
