We had driven past many years and meant to try the Craven Arms. We booked at 4pm and were surprised that the restaurant was nearly full which is a good sign. We were looking forward to eating Sunday lunch. My husband chose gammon steak with chips egg and pineapple. It looked delicious and was substantial. I chose roast beef with roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with 3 types of vegetables. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was good. We both said we will return.

Enjoyable family lunch for 5. Childrens meal of goujons of plaice was delivered quickly and went down well. Different starters including the artichoke paté and squid were very good quality. Mains of steak, haddock, korean chicken skewers were all very tasty and good portions. Enjoyed the café gourmand for dessert. Great service.

Everything about the Craven Arms was faultless. The food was without exception delicious - tasty, well cooked, well presented and good sized portions. Pub food at its absolute best. Service was equally excellent and the staff really friendly. This is how all pubs should be.

A very nice hotel just off the A 65. On arrival, we were shown to our room by a friendly member of staff, our room was very warm and clean. The bar was well stocked with real ales and a good selection of quality wines. The evening meal was very good including our breakfast the next morning. We could not fault this hotel and great value for money

2/3/26 After a long walk we were ready for our evening meal which did not disappoint. Starters of squid and halloumi came out quickly and were delicious, followed by our roast beef dinner . The beef was cooked perfectly ( slightly pink ) the veg and roast potatoes were well seasons and tasted delicious. We were greeted and seated immediately with extremely friendly and attentive staff . A fabulous way to end our weekend !!! Thank you

We had an amazing meal at the Craven Arms. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is really cosy and relaxed. The staff were so pleasant and made you feel very at home. We also loved the menu with lots of interesting vegan options- the mushroom pie was excellent! It was also very reasonably priced given the quality of the food and the good sized portions. We would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely go again.

We were a party of 4 last Sunday Evening 23 February. We were unanimous in thinking that the food, the service and the atmosphere were excellent. Staff were attentive but unobtrusive. The quality of the food was high and we were impressed with the range of vegetarian options. The icing on the cake was a member of the team leaving the restaurant in the pouring rain to return a scarf we had left behind. This was our 4th visit and it is somewhere we will undoubtedly return. Many thanks for a great evening.

Excellent service and good value for money. Food was served efficiently and in a timely manner. Good menu choices. Fresh vegetables, amazing Yorkshire pudding!!

As always, my visit was nothing short of fabulous, from the food to the service. I decided to try the Spinach Roulade from the specials menu, and it was absolutely beautiful—both in presentation and flavour. My friend opted for the warm halloumi salad, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We both chose to skip starters to save room for dessert, and we were so glad we did. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect finale—rich, indulgent, and utterly delicious. Another wonderful experience all around!

Visited for a family meal and had a really lovely time. Clean and modern inside, excellent service and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

We went as a party of 6 early evening on a Sunday. Food, service, and the setting were all fantastic - the roast beef Sunday roast was one of the best I have ever tasted. A lovely meal.

Late sunday lunch I had the cod it was delicious would definitely recommend this dish. All food very good, service is excellent along with a lovely warm welcome from the land lady and her staff.

Our first visit to this place and it won't be our last. The food, staff and ambience were all great. I am a coeliac and therefore needed gluten free options. They had a separate GF menu and dessert menu too. I had a warm haloumi salad, it was one of the nicest I've ever had, delicious. We'll be back!

Fantastic place! Amazing staff who are attentive and take care of everything. Lovely accommodation, breakfast was fresh, plenty of choice and well above your average breakfast - very high standard of meals !!!
