We regularly go in for a Saturday afternoon drink as we love the pub. We've only eaten there a handful of times and found it a bit hit and miss for food. We have had a couple of fabulous meals there and a couple of not so good. Yesterday the food took over an hour to come and 1 order was wrong. The buns for the burgers and hotdogs were very toasted and portions on a couple were a bit stingy. It isn't the cheapest for food so a bit disappointed but staff were friendly and helpful.

Friendly attentive staff we wanted for nothing. Starters were great Main course of burgers was more than we could handle had to skip desert disnt eat till lunch time the day. The takeaway fish and chip odfer seems a great idea if you are local and a great way to supplement the restaurants income

Me and my boyfriend came for the first time and loved it. The food was so tasty and the service was great especially from the waitress we had. We will definitely be coming back and trying the rest of the menu. Also the belly pork was the best we’ve ever had. Only thing that let it down was the car park as very tight and small but can’t be helped

I had high hopes for this restaurant but was severely let down! 1. I booked via the website on 20.08.22 and asked someone to call me as it was for my mothers birthday on the 21.08.22 and wanted to discuss how I could bring a cake and have them bring it out etc - no one called! 2. First ordered drinks at the bar - had no lemonade, not the end of the world but when you want shandy or lemonade in the wine is was! 3. Seated at table, after waiting over 10 mins we had to ask if it was table service or order at bar - finally someone came over and took the order 4. After 20 mins of waiting for food and watching other tables receive their food who ordered after us we asked the young gentleman where our food was - he came out but didn’t address us but another lady did and informed us that there was an issue with the ticketing machine - essentially the food order didn’t reach the kitchen! finally after another 5-10 mins the food came out …. OH BOY 5. The portions are shockingly poor / mash potato was so dry it looked days old! / 3 roasties per plate - quality was so poor none of us finished the meal 6. I asked for mint sauce and salt/ pepper - was given a jar of mint sauce as you would buy it from your shop and also the small packets of salt and pepper you see in fast food shops Overall I had high expectations for this meal and was severely let down by service and food quality - I paid the bill and not even reduction due to the long wait time, we didn’t stay for desert but rather went to another restaurant - poor service / poor quality food and given the occasion just felt very disappointed! Avoid at all costs

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here last night. Food was amazing (I loved the runny scotch egg) and service was friendly. 100% recommend to anyone.

The belly pork was a treat, very tasty indeed!!! We will be coming back to try more!

The service was very good and the staff were very helpful and pleasant one inparticular went the extra mile. This was a very important meal for a lot of reasons and was also for my wife's birthday. Thanks for making it a huge success.

We arrived at our booked meal time and it did seem that the venue was understaffed to seat us. Originally seated by the kitchen, which was noisy and considering there were plenty of quieter/ more desirable tables available, we moved into the main restaurant, which was lovely. Decor amazing. The staff didn't really know the menu, or what we were ordering, but after 'working with them' the food was amazing!!!! Very good!!! Credit to the kitchen. We didn't mind the wait for food. Not really that long. 20/30 minutes. But some people round us were left disappointed. Having worked in hospitality, I just think that it needs a Manager who is on it. To take hospitality up a level. The staff are willing. Just need direction. I would go again because the food was excellent. Just plan ahead for timings.

Amazing ! This pub is really close by but we’ve never been before - definitely our loss !! Lovely and clean inside and out, staff were very attentive but not in an obtrusive way and the food was brilliant! I had a fish pie which can be a bit of a gamble as it’s often just mush but this was delicious with proper chucks of fish . Couldn’t fault anything and would highly recommend!

Lovely place, the staff were friendly and helpful but the food was not great. The meat was nice but my nut roast was the worst thing i have had in a restaurant! The mash had big lumps of pepper in and overall the veg was disappointing

Excellent meal and great staff. I think we were the last ones in, so must have enjoyed ourselves.

Upon entering the smokey cow our party could not believe the nois level in the room. so we ordered drinks very nice and decided to leave.

Fell upon this pub, booked and Went for sons 18th, staff were lovely and food was top notch! Definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing meal out at the Butcher’s Kitchen. The food was beautiful, pork starter in particular was cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive. Having an allergy to dairy I often feel limited on the meal options at restaurants, however having let the restaurant know in advance, they had a menu prepared marked up with all the meals I could and couldn’t have on arrival, made for a relaxing and enjoyable meal out.

Great atmosphere & service , food was excellent, young staff members were very knowledgeable about menu and answered any questions with enthusiasm, will definitely go again,

We have recently discovered the Smokey Cow and what a find a lovely gem. Well worth a visit. Staff lovely and attentive. I am gluten free, the chef came and sat with me to discuss the menu and food I like, priceless. Food was beautiful empty plates by us. We will be visiting this pub again and again.
