We attended on Sunday as a large group, we had booked in advance and sent a pre-order before arrival which was dealt with amazingly by Danielle. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, we were shown to our table and served promptly. The food was exceptional, we couldn't fault it (14 meals ranging from Sunday roasts, sharing boards, pies and fish and chips) Would happily return any time we're in the area!

Had a Sunday roast and it was huge! The food was delicious and well worth the price. There was a lovely lady that was very attentive but I didn't get her name (a blonde haired lady) Definitely will be returning

Had lovely birthday lunch with friends last friday. Food was delicious and service excellent.

Had a lovely meal on Friday lunch time. Nice big potions....food quality excellent...service was efficient, quick and courteous ...Childrens menu is good...and again the quality of the food was superb..

We have enjoyed meals here many times, we love the food, surroundings and helpful staff. Recently we held our Golden Wedding Celebration there with 20 family and friends. It was a very special evening. We hired the private room and had it all to ourselves. The food was served promptly and was delicious as usual. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to all concerned for making our evening so special.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening and service excellent. Food perfect, I love the cheese and onion pie. Portion size, spot on. Too much food on my husband’s plate puts him off. He ate everything and loved the different flavours offered.

Visited 21st June. 1st visit. Great food, excellent service and a good time was had by myself and two friends. Pricing on par with other venues. Can recommend the Cheese and Onion Pie, delicious and the pastry sublime. Shepherds Pie was very tasty and cooked to perfection too. Would definitely return in the future. I didn’t think to ask if I could have different vegetables with the C&O pie but would do next time. You won’t be disappointed if you choose stop to eat here and as I was out of my area I booked the table online. Very easy to do. Thank you all.

3 if us ate on Sunday 8th June and the meal was faultless. 2 Sunday roasts with requests for the meat tk be swapped was a accommodated without fuss. The service was great effecient and friendly.

It's been a while since we last dined at the shepherds rest and wasn't sure what to expect since the last time ( a year or so ) wasn't that good , but this time it was a much better experience, food was superb and the service was great , Darren was very attentive and gave good service .

Amazing food! A great selection on the menu, my third time coming here and I’ll definitely be coming back. Friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and the added bonus of the views of the local countryside! A great place to stop after a walk in the hills for a pint and some food. Would definitely recommend.

Our first time here and we will definitely be back! We went up to Gaddings Dam first and then came to the pub in the dog friendly section with our German shepherd. We both had the small plate fish and chips with mushy peas as it was only lunch time and it was perfect - absolutely delicious. We were even given some treats for our dog Lovely service in a beautiful setting with delicious food
