Excellent freshly cooked food and the pies went down particularly well. Good choice of beer and wine, I can recommend the White Witch.

We have been visiting this pub for years and the food is restaurant quality, fabulous. The staff are consistently friendly and professional. Well worth a visit. We had Cauliflower Romano and Blue Cheese Waldorf salad. Delicious.

Celebrated our Golden Wedding , all food was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice atmosphere with good surroundings, Would recommend.

The food and service were excellent. I know it was Wednesday lunch time and the pub hadn't been open since Sunday evening, but there was no heating on and there was a draft coming in through the back doors. No good for old folks.

Sat by the window but unfortunately due to horrendous weather didn't have a good view which I am sure would be stunning on a sunny day .We had the salmon fillet with cabbage and hassleback potatoes. I can't remember what the sauce ,was but it was delicious ( wish I knew recipe) Sticky toffee pudding and ice-cream for pudding ,delicious too.It was a bit of a trek up the narrow roads that we were not sure we were going in right direction but after a chat to some folk we were assured we were heading the right way ,just a little further .Well worth the effort.Bravo

I've been to the shepherds rest a few times now and everything is outstanding, friendly team ,lovely place and the food is always amazing quality , can't say enough positive things about this place , will be going again very soon

A really enjoy evening. Food was delicious. A nice selection on the menu. We all had different meals and everyone was impressed. A cosy relaxed atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive.

Another lovely evening out at the Shepherds Rest. Food superb. I can highly recommend the cheese and onion pie. No crumbs left on my husband’s plate, which is highly unusual. He thoroughly enjoyed the salmon, very tasty. Compliments to the chef and staff team. Thank you.

What a pleasant surprise! Four of us for lunch on a Friday, we were a little concerned about how quiet it was. We need not have worried. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady, who gave us a choice of tables overlooking stunning views. The service she provided was first rate. Our food was ordered and was quite simply superb. Four empty plates went back. We are experienced diners at pubs and restaurants and all rated this at the very top. To add to this, the menu prices were very reasonable. We will certainly be back and I for one can't wait. Thank you.

Came for a 40th birthday meal staff went above and beyond to help and the food was amazing.

We love Shepherd’s Rest and try to bring our friends/family when they come to visit. This last visit I was able to pre-order a chicken roast for Sunday lunch for a picky eater with no fuss. Another visit on a Sunday I had my heart set on ordering a Shepherd’s Pie, but forgot it was Sunday. They did accommodate me even though I could’ve picked something else and that just tells me everything I need to know about the kind of service provided.

First time visiting here and we loved the food. I had meatballs, shepherd's pie and sticky toffee pudding. Very tasty and great quality. The service was excellent, we will be back.

Get together before the eldest leaves for University. The staff were fantastic - nothing too much. Having to cater to 2 people who require gluten-free. All meals were loved and a great night was had by all. Thank you
