We only discovered here last summer and since then we have been several times. The location is beautiful and the pub itself is so cozy and welcoming. Every time we have visited the staff have been so lovely and helpful and the food is amazing.
The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenLovely, friendly country pub. Staff were very welcoming and the service was just right. Welcomed our fur baby and didn’t mind muddy paws. The braised beef and pinion pie was the best pie I’ve ever eaten , the veg that came with it was fresh and tasty. Need to return to try the cheese and onion pie. Portion size was generous, but unfortunately didn’t have room to try dessert. I highly recommend!

The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place is inviting and has a lovely atmosphere and even if the staff are are busy, they always acknowledge you are there and get to you as soon as they can. The food is delicious, served hot and looking very appetising. Good value for money and we always enjoy going.

The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenWe had a long promised trip to The Shepherds Rest Inn on Boxing Day for a Bank Holiday drive out and we were not disappointed. Such a wonderful pub, warm and welcoming and a lovely atmoshpere throughout. We sat in the 'pub side' which was as cosy as you could wish and enjoyed a long and leisurely lunch and drink. Food was excellent, really excellent and the service was just great. A shout out to all the staff and I really should have registered names, but the young gentleman who seated us and served drinks and food, with recommendations (the pie over the burger!), had a lovely approach and was exceptional. A credit to the team and the pub in general. Thank you so much.

OMG the food is absolutey delicious and the staff are so lovely.. it was that good I brought my mum and dad back the following Sunday! We’re now arguing over what’s best.. the beef pie or the cheese & onion pie! Well worth a visit! 10/10 xx

This year however, we decided to go to the other side of the valley and haave lunch at The Shepherds Rest. I cant express how beautifully they accomodated fort us. The food, the service, the atmosphere was perfect. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Braised beef pie….. tonnes of salt in the filling, the pastry was excellent, get the seasoning correct and that pie would look and taste amazing! Burger…. Burger patty wasn’t seared… patty looked poached!!

One of my friends is in a wheelchair but I particularly wanted her to meet my dog so was anxious we would be seated in the right part of the pub. We had an ideally placed table for all of us. The staff were thoughtful about opening doors to allow the wheelchair access, and all were friendly to my dog. She was given a big bowl of fresh water . My only complaint about the food is that I ate too much. One of my friends is vegetarian and she got the right pie. Service was friendly and attentive though the pub was full and busy. The bill was very reasonable for three courses each.
