We had a very peaceful overnight stay on the car park in our camper after eating at the Shepherds Rest. Great winter warmer specials menu for a very decent price. Lovely friendly atmosphere and staff, will be visiting again thank you. Stunning views all around.
The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenAs a small group of close friends, pre-covid we would visit Shepherds Rest every year on or as close as possible to, the 5th of Jan for a “Last Day of Christmas” meal. This year was the first time we’ve managed to honour the tradition since 2020! The restaurant didn’t disappoint, five adults and two children shared two yorkie boards (1 beef, 1 vegetarian) with an extra wrap and side of veg on each board and there was more than enough food for us all. Desserts all round, a couple of bottles of whine, a few beers and some soft drinks and the whole meal was just £200, which was excellent value. The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and attentive (they pushed our table half an hour when some of our group got stuck in traffic) and clearly took pride in their workplace, which was lovely. We spent almost two and a half hours on our meal and never felt rushed to clear the table. It was an excellent - of belated - end to our Christmas season and seeing some of the amendments they’ve made to the menu, as well as the outdoor family area and pizza cabin, since our last visit well definitely be back for a few more visits during the year.

Site Pizzeria – TodmordenBooked for a birthday lunch on the 17th January. It's been several years since last at the Sheperds and I'm sorry to say it'll be a few years before we venture back. The 2 men on duty were nice and obliging but the food wasn't up to much. Its a shame spectacular position and at least the Sticky Toffee pudding was good.....saving grace.

This is a Lovely pub and restaurant, we were greeted with a friendly warm Yorkshire welcome and received fantastic service throughout. The staff were brilliant, really attentive, polite and efficient. There was a good, plentiful choice on the food menu, to choose from and the food and drink were excellent. This is undoubtedly a very popular place to eat and drink, dog friendly with a really good cosy atmosphere in quiet relaxing location. Definitely well worth the visit, we had walked 18k over the tops from Rochdale to get there! Highly recommended.

We were well looked after despite the pub being very busy and the food was very good (we had heard the pies were worth travelling for and this proved to be the case). One of the party ordered dirty fries - these came on a huge plate and I think most of us got to share in them.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were attentive, friendly, polite and did a marvellous job both in the kitchen and front of house. We really enjoyed our evening. Thank you.
Site Pizzeria – TodmordenThe manager called the day before our visit to advise about the access for my disabled dad - very thoughtful and much appreciated. The staff made us all feel very welcome (including our dogs), and the food was very good. We are new to the area and this was our first visit - we will definitely be back soon.
