We ate here during the festival when it was busy. Service was great and food arrived quickly. We had bruschetta to start and salmon tagliatelle and puttanesca pizza for main. Very very good - I love pizza and so often they can be disappointing but this was the best I’ve had in ages. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending.

Our first visit after many recommendations. We had the early bird which was fantastic value. The lamb main was excellent, just needed more crumble topping on the apple crumble dessert. Service was also excellent, attentive and very friendly. Will definitely return.

Food excellent . Only thing I would say is you need to get more on the bar ! Also you need to book the place is very popular

The menu is limited but the four of us had a good meal . There was a nice atmosphere , the staff were welcoming and most efficient .

Had an evening meal here with my husband on Thursday, everything was delicious. I had roast sea bass with vegetables, Hubble had cod Thai green curry, which he said was amazing, cod flaked easily as well cooked. Followed these with 3 ice cream scoops, and for me, a delicious crème brûlée. An excellent way to close a hot day!

I did not want to write a review and instead deal with things discreetly. However, having received no response to an email I sent on Tuesday 30.05.2023 I have to say this. Dear would-be diners, avoid the food in this place at all costs especially, their take on faux Italian dishes. This is of course unless you want severe food poisoning.

Excellent food ,fantastic flavours,local produce used so supporting the local community,the staff are excellent,the training they have had is of a very high quality,we have used the restaurant over the past 12 months as we now live in the area and to be honest we wouldn’t go any where else,it is a “home from home “ experience,we love it,give them a go you will not regret it

Always an absolute pleasure to visit Y Sgwar. Excellent food, excellent wines and an excellent service, all at a reasonable price. If you’re in the area you should book a table, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful meal at The Courthouse - delicious food, cooked beautifully and we were so impressed with the level of care and attention given to our family of 6. The children were looked after really well and the portions of food on the children’s menu were very generous indeed. The fish and lamb were also cooked to perfection, and the desserts were divine. The Courtyard is a beautifully restored restaurant in a stunning building opposite the castle - a real gem for foodies and families looking to find somewhere a little different to eat out whilst in Caernarfon. We will certainly return when next in the area, and hope that the theatre may also be open that time too - the renovation of this space was done to such a high spec that we would have gladly stayed to watch a performance that evening too if one had been on!

Lovely pub with very friendly staff. Queued 15 minutes for a drink on arrival then 10 minutes to be allocated a table . The meal was nice but then had to queue another 10 minutes to order dessert . We booked this meal over a week ago but I’m afraid we will not be going back!
