Y Sgwar – PorthmadogOur first time recommended by our daughter. The staff made us feel extremely welcolme. Service very good and food was of a high standard. We had the lamb and duck both meals out of this world. Portions were good for the price. Would highly recommend and will return again next time we are in Harlech.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogThoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. Fantastic service…smiley, kind, attentive without being all over you. Just right. The food is fantastic. The ingredients are obviously well sourced and this shows. The portion sizes are very generous (and I love my food!)…even the kids meals were enormous. Before we visited I thought that the menu looked on the expensive side but the quality of the food and the fact it’s 2025 where everything costs more goes more than some way to explaining this…eating out is pricey now but Y Sgwar is excellent value. Will definitely visit again when we’re next in the area.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogA warm welcome from Efa and the team on arrival. The food was absolutely superb, and marks one of the highlights of our week on the Llyn peninsula. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogBest lamb I have had in a very long time. Everything else was good too. Nothing disappointed.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogLovely pub in pretty area. Food tasty and good value for money. Staff quick and helpful. Only downside is limited menu choice but very good what is on.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthBest Sunday lunch we've had in a long time! Great food & great service. We'll definitely be back!
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. It was served on hot plates and was absolutely delicious. We loved all the different types of vegetables. Staff very friendly and service was quick.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogHad a lovely evening with friends . Food was delicious and portions were very generous. We had a delightful waitress who was very attentive . Only criticism was that as the other tables left around us , staff rearranged the furniture and dragged the chairs noisily across the floor which made conversation rather tricky for 10-15mins .
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogLovely food, we didn’t have to wait too long even though it was very busy and many ordering at the same time. Great venue, lovely garden and play area. Lovely wholesome tasty food.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthSecond time for a Sunday roast here and again it was absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly staff and the place is lovely, highly recommend.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWe very much enjoyed our evening in y sgwar. It was my birthday and decided to go for the early bird meal, it was delicious and everything was presented beautifully. Our compliments to the chef. The staff were 1st class very polite and and also very friendly.. thank you for my happy birthday song .... We are already planning our next visit . Thank you everyone
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWhilst the atmosphere was pleasant, the lamb from the Early Bird Menu was extremely tough. We should have sent it back, but being typically British, we struggled on, hoping it would get better.......................it didn't. We both left a lot of it. We told the waitress who said she would let the chef know. This is 2nd occasion when this has happened so we will not be coming to Y Sgwar again
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe had a delicious meal at Y Sgwar, the atmosphere was great, the food excellent and the service brilliant. We would totally recommend.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogAlways eat here when we come to near by Tal Y Bont, food always fantastic and a lovely cosy pub with great garden by the stream lovely
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthVery disappointing to be honest. Small menu. Food wasn't that great - we've been coming here every year since coming to Barmouth but after this visit I don't think we will return unless the food improves and the menu choice increases. Such a shame as it used to be so nice.
The Victoria Inn – BarmouthThis is the second meal we have had at this lovely restaurant. Fab food on both occasions, Reasonably priced too. Friendly staff and great choice on the menu. Garden has lovely seating area and next to the river. Very helpful staff who accommodated our mobility restrictions on our first visit. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back.
