Very busy which is nice to see although made service a bit slow, however the food ,& staff were lovely

Second time ate Sunday lunch at the Vic. An excellent meal, the lamb was fantastic- couldn’t recommend it high enough. Will certainly come back for a third and more.

We were very impressed with the Sunday lunch yesterday. The food was fantastic, as was the general atmosphere. It was nice to have proper cuts of meat on the plate rather than razor thin slices that you get in some places! The veg was all fresh and rustic too. Overall a really nice meal out while we were staying in the area. Would definitely go again.

We had our team office party here this weekend and a fabulous time was had by all! Food was fantastic and the Christmas treats on the table were a lovely touch. Amazing cocktails too. Special mention to the wonderful Iolo and Tracey who looked after us all evening. Thanks to all at Y Sgwar. Nodolig Llawen xxx

My second visit to the bistro. The food was just as good second time around. It’s still too bright in the bistro lights need to be turned down that’s my only complaint.

Lovely food, polite and friendly staff- it has a relaxed and cozy atmosphere I recommend it all the time.

4 of us dined at Y Sgwar in November and had the most fabulous three course meal. The quality of the food was excellent and very well prepared, the service was very friendly and efficient and the wine went down a treat. This restaurant never disappoints!!

Wonderful atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff and delicious food. We felt we could trust the menu and order what we fancied rather than playing safe and no one was disappointed. I hope to be back soon.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service

A fantastic meal / evening, for a large party of 16. Everything was fantastic . Thank You Lolo and the amazing team at The Square. We all loved it from Wirral Porsche Enthusiasts. Thank You

Had heard a lot of good things about this place but was very disappointed in the fish dish I had. I had halibut, which is usually my favourite fish. It was quite slightly overcooked and the sauce was very watery and tasteless. The potato was merely a ‘roast’ potato and very similar to what my parner had with his roast chicken. Mussels were gritty and rubbery. The whole dish lacked flavour. Dessert was delicious though, excellent creme brulee, shame the shortbread was not made in-house.

We celebrated my husband's birthday here on Sunday the 12th November we were the only four people in the restaurant the staff could not have been more accommodating knowledgeable about the venue the food was amazing we had a lovely evening and felt that we had hired the venue just for us

Outstanding main and dessert excellent value for money, delicious wine. Fast service, attentive staff who are serious about customer satisfaction.

The fish stew was excellent, good size portions and the desserts were delicious too. The wine list was reasonably priced . My only comaint is the tables are a little small , to hold a wine cooler, glasses and as mentioned the large lates of food . Maybe stands for the wine coolers would be a good idea. Apart from that small issue everything was excellent and we will definitely go back .

Really fresh the fish, second visit now. Would love to see sae salt and fresh grinder pepper on table. Will come again fir the amazing fresh shellfish and fish
