Had 2 course festive menu. Starter and 4 meat carvery. Absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive and polite. Food ...great choice, fresh and hot

Used Bistro for pre theatre meal regularly for a long time but now find it almost impossible to get a table - so often fully booked many weeks before - rather takes the edge off a 'complete treat evening' On the one reservation I managed recently, food, ambience and service pleasant and good (except for hold ups when everyone was wanting to pay, & coffee came too late for us to accept it)

Fabulous carvery, plenty of choice cooked perfectly. The chef Sian what a pleasure to be served by her, she so pleasant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, she’s an asset to the Golden goose we will definitely be going again.

Excellent food and excellent service

On arrival we were met with a friendly welcome and seated quickly. The bar staff and chef on the carvery were also friendly and efficient. The down side for us was towards the latter end of our meal where we had to chase waiting staff to clear our table. They then eventually brought our desserts after following it up and being told 10 minutes, even though we could see the desserts had already been prepared and sitting on the counter. The desserts were brought to the table and all the empty glasses left stacked up as well as some of the dinner plates (they could have taken them away with them). On the whole food was good, waiting service could do with a lift! Perhaps it was just a hiccup, we would definitely return.

Had a lovely meal, fish and chips which was on offer, fish was huge far too much for me, but very nice, drinks are very expensive. Lovely place and staff very friendly and helpful

Great meal last night! Even managed to accommodate 2 tables together last minute! Food was great and service was too!

Another excellent meal, good choice, well presented. Wine list has plenty of choice. Relaxing way to start a trip to the theatre, service excellent, staff welcoming and ensure you are ready for the performance in good time.

Relaxed atmosphere. Attentive staff and tasty food. Drinks ordered for interval helped make it a lovely evening.

A very relaxing way to start our evening at the theatre. The food was good with a good range of choice. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and particularly efficient during the interval when we enjoyed our pre ordered desserts and coffee. Coffee was waiting for us and hot. We’ll definitely would do this again.

First time at this resturant and was pleasantly suprised will go again
