UK Restaurant Guide

I visited this Restaurant with my wife and granddaughter following the Christmas period.From the comments I have read, I expected good food and excellent service. Unfortunately we did not enjoy either. The food was not very good and the service was slow.We were unable to understand what the waitress was saying at times and she also took little notice of the complaints we made about some of the food.Every time we wanted another glass of wine we had to keep calling her to the table.My granddaughter , who eats regularly in chinese restaurants in Southampton ,said that it was probably the worst meal and service she had experienced.The only interest the waitress had was when we decided to leave. She asked how much gratuity I wished to add to the bill!!We even left without a goodbye from the staff.Needless to say, we will not be going to this restaurant again.

Th pub was very very cold, kept on asking for the heating to be put on. Food came out hot but got cold quickly as the pub was cold. Atmosphere not nice as the pub was cold. I was with family, we spent a fair bit, but the pub was not very welcoming .Would not go back

Good time, go again!

On entering restaurant found it to be very clean,pleasant and very well laid tables.The food was of high quality. You could taste the flavours and the presentation of the dishes was excellent. Ihad a glass of red wine with my meal,which wasn't expesive and a good quality. The toilets were very clean and presentable. Overall the meal and exemplarary service was a delight. Highly recommended.

We went there last week and had a fabulous meal. we are going again tonight with very special friends. Highly recommended

Beware when ordering, the breakdown in communication makes them automatically think it is their right to order extra items and charge you for it. It was only a couple of pounds extra but this is not the point. When confronted with this they said that they were not wrong and I had ordered more than I thought I did. Food was not the best I'd had in the area also!! Some of the worst customer service I've come across. Never using again!!

The night I went they allowed a group of 30 or more students to arrive as a group. The noise was unbearable. The waiter that came to our table gave a brief apology but when I explained how disruptive it felt he told me that they simply haven't done anything wrong. Don't wanna come here again. Little concern for the experience- simply want to get the crowds in a bank the cash.

I have eaten in this wonderful village pub the food is just unbelievable and in my opinion you cant get any better in a top class restraunt. It has a very good supply of ales and very good atmosphere landlord and land lady will do anything to please you and the chefs are brill. So why not try it.

Cracking down to earth homely food and staff very friendly.

Good Evening,I wish to make a complaint regarding a recent visit I made to your Southsea restaurant. Myself and 5 other members of my family came for a 3 course meal as a special occasion for my father's 60th Birthday.We were extremely disappointed with the whole evening as on arrival the waitress could hardly be bothered to greet us as she was too busy talking to her colleague, then when the food came out 2 out of the 6 dishes were not what we asked for which was hardly surprising as you could clearly tell the waitress was dis-interested in helping us. We therefore had some family members with meals and two who had to wait a further 10 minutes for their meals which turned up Luke warm!!! This is totally unacceptable and ruined the whole evening which as I am sure you can appreciate was a very special occasion. I will await your earliest response to confirm what you will do about this very poor situation going forward and how you are going to make amends for the awful evening we experienced to restore faith in your restaurants.Regards
