Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA lovely early evening meal at the pheasant inn, 1st time dining there and we enjoyed it the food and service was very good. We will return and highly recommend, you are best to pre book to be assured a table.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had booked this as a drop off point on our way home so didn’t know what to expect. We had delicious food, a nice selection of hearty meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely old Inn, well worth a visit. Thank you
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithThe service, atmosphere and food quality were all excellent. The pub is continuously improving. If you want a great night out in an historic English pub thee is no finer place than the Horse and Farrier, Dacre.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithBest Sunday lunch around.....
Horse and Farrier – PenrithVery friendly staff, great atmosphere. Sunday lunch was great, beef maybe slightly too rare. All in all really enjoyable experience, would certainly visit again when in the area.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe enjoyed an excellent meal at Grants of Castlegate. Their Cumbrian lamb was exquisitely cooked, with well chosen vegetables (including a bed of rocket and roasted carrots). The rhubarb tart with ginger ice cream was also delightful. If we're in Penrith again, this will probably be our chosen place to dine.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithSuperb food, excellent friendly service. Great atmosphere, definitely the best meal we had during our visit to the Lakes.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA very nice and cosy restaurant. Food was wonderful and reasonably priced, and the staff serving us was most helpful and polite. Location is just next to the bus stop.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe were staying at the Wheatsheaf and booked a table for 7.30pm. We also had breakfast the next morning. We shared a halloumi starter and both had the steak and Swan pie with mash. Very nice food, well cooked and nicely presented. There was lots of gravy but it would have been better if it was home made. The breakfast was excellent. Service was friendly and prompt. The IPA and black heart were also very good. I find Lancashire can be about 10% more expensive than Yorkshire but there you go.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely meal, cosy atmosphere ,friendly and helpful staff. Will hopefully go again soon.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickDelicious food, we really enjoyed it. The menu is so well thought out, exciting and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, a lovely little restaurant. All the staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful, efficient, personable. Definitely good value for money, a real treat.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereEvery year we visit this superb Bistro. The food is always top class and the new specials board is excellent. Caring and thoughtful staff and the owner/chef always has time to converse with the clientele.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereBest food in the area by far. Lovely atmosphere and service. Excellent gluten free options. We always come here several times when we stay locally.
Horse and Farrier – PenrithExcellent service from welcoming and helpful staff, would recommend the pub and its facilities to anyone. Food quality, choice and value for money was exceptional, I really can’t fault anything.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsThis was the 4th time this year i came up from Stockport and chose to go back to Grants for Saturday evening meal. We have tried different places over the last few years, but nothing matches the quality. The service from Heather has been excellent and hats off to the chef, perfectly cooked fillet medium rare every single time. see you next time.
