Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithFood and service great thanks again
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithFood was excellent and loved the curry sauce and gravy as side options! Good choice of wines and good service.
Pig and Whistle – CartmelWe return to The Pheasant every time we are in the Lakes. The pub has real character, the staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is the best! We can’t recommend it highly enough. We just wish White Bait was on the menu every night not just as a special, we miss it!
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAlways receive a warm and friendly welcome. Service is very efficient and food quality is always well above standard pub fair. Highly recommended
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalWe ate there last night 30th October, the food was excellent. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere score was not a 5 as it was a Wednesday night and most customers were leaving as we arrived later in the evening. We will definitely dine there again in the near future it is well worth the 40 mile round trip
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithVisited here with family as we do every year when we visit Keswick. Great food, especially the beef pie and the service Is really good if you get the right person, and we did although she knocked a drink over on our table but sorted the issue out quickly and it didn’t affect our night. The only thing that annoyed was when the gentleman bought the bill over he asked if we were going to leave a tip,so as he obviously expected one we didn’t leave one,but we would return again in a heartbeat 10/10 FOOD 8/10 SERVICE
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely food and drink. Staff very courteous and quick. Ambiance very relaxing.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleYet another delicious meal, great food, extensive menu and excellent attentive staff. Highly recommend.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleVisited yesterday with my partner and we both thought the food was amazing! We were super impressed with the Pork Belly starter and the Sea Bass main was incredible. The service was great and they were super considerate of anything I may need being 6 months pregnant. Thanks so much for a gorgeous experience with a cosy vibe, can’t wait to come back next time we are in the area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI love it here. I always book a table when I am in the Lakes and the beef pie is my go to. Never disappoints.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFirst time visiting and will definitely be back
Sage and Vine – CarlisleDespite being very busy the food was delicious and the service good. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely go back again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were staying at a local campsite and The Greyhound was recommended. Checking its website it looked just what we were looking for. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a very friendly face and led is to a table. I had the Chicken with a Leek,Bacon and Cheddar Cheese sauce and my hubby had the Double Burger with Bacon. Excellent service super pub food in a great atmosphere . The locals were having a great time and included us. Next time we are in the area we will return. A good night out 5*.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleWe had a lovely meal at the Queens Head. We had a drink in the bar first which had a lovely ambience and atmosphere. The restaurant was delightful with the food and service being top quality. Recommend booking as it is very popular.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe really enjoyed our visit! We were well looked after and the food was lovely. Particularly the Yorkshire pudding roast wrap! Good value for money too!
Pig and Whistle – CartmelWe always enjoy our visit to The Pheasant though tonight was a bit mixed. Food( quality and volume) and drink were up to the usual good standard Always a difficult one to judge for those serving, but service was a bit hit and miss - we were ushered to our table upon entering and then it was 15 minutes before anybody came to speak to us, surprisingly, to ask if we’re were ready to order, rather than ‘ would we like a drink’? Further, immediately after our meal, completed at 21.00, our bill arrived. It seemed as if some of the staff were in a rush to get home or on to a night out. Our only other comment would be that the decor is looking a bit tired - chipped table mats, damaged walls, pictures showing local images in dated frames, etc. If the place were mine I would be looking to keep the character, but upgrade one room every year or so. Easy said given the volume of customers and I appreciate there is a financial balance to be considered.
