An excellent friendly pub with a great reception from the staff. The pies were really good and the puddings were fabulous, the ladies inour party stuggled with the ham on the ham and eggs course, was rather dry. Other than that it was really good. We will be returning.

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFood was as you might expect: decent, tasty, no complaints, but nothing exceptional. Staff weren't as attentive as they might have been however - we had to wait a good 15-20 minutes for our table to be ready and we didn't get a hint of an apology, and when we first entered it took a fair while for anyone to look up from the bar and acknowledge us. Throughout the evening they became a bit friendlier, and it wouldn't have been enough to put me off returning, but it wasn't the best way to start an evening.

We found the staff very friendly and the Sunday roast was very good considering how busy it was. It’s clear that there was some love that went into the preparation. We were certainly unlucky to book on an evening when some of the kitchen kit was not functioning, so we were told half an hour after ordering that 3 of the 4 courses we had ordered were not available. The substitutes were not impressive. Front of house were very nice, trying to make the best of a dfficult situation.
