A delightful bistro with delicious food and friendly staff. And a real bonus - able to cater for coeliacs. Actually made eating out a pleasure. Book in plenty of time as seems very popular.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food and service at Grants in Penrith were both excellent. Unfortunately the interior decor (only saw the front part of the restaurant) was not as inviting. Needs 'softening' in some respect.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWent for a meal last saturday great meal and great service
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWent here for a birthday meal, service was not good. We waited 25 minutes to even order our food and then didn’t receive our mains for another hour. We then had to wait ages for our bill to be given to us, at which point we had to go up to the bar ourselves, which would have been fine if we weren’t told to wait and our waiter would bring us it. Food was okay, my boyfriend enjoyed his pheasant, but the Cumberland sausage was overcooked. Disappointed as this place was highly recommended to us.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickHad Sunday lunch at the Pheasant Inn, Keswick and wow it was lovely. Great atmosphere and great food.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe enjoyed our dinner meal at Pheasant Inn. The food was very good. The service was slow but the manager apologized and explained that they were training new servers. We enjoyed conversation with another couple at an adjacent table. We had a pleasant evening at the pub.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe love everything about the Wheatsheaf. Top of the list for us in food quality and service for some years now and very good value too! Worth a mention….If you order the steak pie(scrummy!)don’t forget to order your veg too as not included. Book early!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBrilliant roast, wonderful service. Really enjoyed how welcoming the pub was to us and our dogs, thanks again.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe starter was lovely but the mains a little bit of a let down, it felt like trying to be something its not, well not yet. Service was good along with atmosphere. Just need a tweak on food. At the moment not good enough for us to go back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVery enjoyable evening at Lewis Bistro. Food very tasty particularly as red wine sauce on haddock gave me an excuse for drinking red wine with fish. Friendly and fast service.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely meal as always , great service, staff and lovely atmosphere
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleBeen here a couple of times and were in the Lakes for our 60th birthdays. Had an amazing meal and the staff are so friendly. I would definitely recommend and would definitely go back. We had French onion soup for starters and rack of lamb followed by cheese cake . Delicious x Thank you to all the staff we had such a lovely night xx
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA very good meal, tasty, well cooked and well presented. Minor point was a little too much salt in the creamy mash for my palate. Atmosphere is pleasant but touch Spartan. However, excellent value and we will return.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithAwesome food, friendly, fast service, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Stephen even gave us a lift home as we were the last customers, as he was passing our hotel on his way home. We would definitely recommend. Thank you Darren & Kathryn
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithSorry. Am a good cook myself. My chicken was reasonable. The belly pork meal pretty awful. Staff did their best. Very pushed due to lack of help. Didnt think the quality merited the price paid. As an aside. The broccoli wasnt cooked at all and couldnt cut it. No offence to anyone. They were busy and pleasant.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalI had cod fish and found it to be overcooked and dry. We were also put in the conservatory part of the restaurant which both my husband and I felt there was no atmosphere and rather chilly. In other words we were ‘out on a limb’ with service rather slow.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalStayed for 1 night after revisiting my childhood driving around some of the lakes, this suited me, room was very nice, food both PM and the breakfast was very nice, staff very friendly, very much recommend and and come stay again
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithReally nice food I had the Fillet Steak and my wife had the pork both where very good. The restaurant just lacks a bit of ambience but staff and food excellent.
