What a lovely evening from Harry's and the visiting chefs! Drinks outside in front of an open fire, followed by delicious and meticulously prepared food. All in a very congenial setting.

Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-Sands5 of us had a very good evening at the Farmers Arms. The food was excellent. The venison was off the menu, but we had the added bonus of live music which was unexpected.
Farmers Arms – Ulverston5 star
Sage and Vine – CarlisleSupper Club night cooked by Simon Doherty, this was probably one if not the best meal , I have ever had. The waiting staff were great, the venue was great, the food was 5 star. If ever there was a winning combination of venue, atmosphere and a quality dining experience then this was it. I would really struggle to criticise anything about it, maybe the loos could do with a refresh, but to be honest I don't care as everything else was fantastic. Well done Yew Tree
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsGorgeous food, wine and service. All a bit different. Thoroughly recommend it.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWe have been twice. On the first occasion someone else had sat on our reserved table, so they moved us to a different one. They food was great and the waitresses friendly. On the second occasion we arrived to find they had reserved us a table that was far too small to accomodate us (a table with 2 chairs when we had booked for 5 people…). They then moved us into the cold cafe area, far from the live music and the bar. They were very busy, so the food took a long, long time, then came out in dribs and drabs, half cold. Finally, we were told they were too busy to make hot drinks - so no coffee for us after our meal in the cold cafe. Very disappointing.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonGreat food, attentive friendly staff and excellent value for money
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleFantastic service, fabulous food, always a lovely atmosphere

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent meal all freshly made to order lovely location and atmosphere. Excellent service. Will be going back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeTo start with a glass of sparkles outside in a lovely setting was fantastic....to be then followed by lovely food with attentive service - I can't fault it.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsAbove average pub fare , with wide range of choices and some quite adventurous options. Hardly 'gastro' in my view. Generous portions with proper potato and vegetable sides. Pastry on pie[ lovely steak filling!] was heavy and soggy, however. Waited quite a while for mains to arrive. Service team pleasant. Average prices for Lakeland, though better value and quality for the money than many outlets locally.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food as always and lovely staff
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithSecond time we have eaten here in the last couple of weeks. On both occasions the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. On our last visit we were informed that there would be a delay with the food but we were kept informed of progress which is what you want. Will definitely be going back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAbsolutely Fantastic! We visited The Wheatsheaf whilst on holiday and we certainly wasn't disappointed. After going on a lovely walk with the family, we were able to book for a last minute meal. Not always the easiest with a young one and a big german shepherd. It was lovely and spacious, good portion yummy food and the service was second to none. We just wished we lived closer.
