What an absolute gem if a restaurant from walking through the door to leaving you are made to feel special The food is amazing definitely a 10/10 Can’t wait to return

Fabulous food on Saturday 30th . Pub was busy eith a lovely atmosphere.We had the venison and the shin beef both superb.Service was excellent, even though it was very busy . Best meal we have had in Keswick. We will certainly return when back in Keswick .

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening before Christmas. There were not many people in the restaurant but we were welcomed by the owner. The menu offered some very individual dishes which proved to be delicious. We did consider the main courses were a little over priced but our overall experience was most enjoyable.

Booked a table for a meal 4 weeks in advance (as this was for Boxing Day) and received confirmation. Also received a reminder of the booking 2 days beforehand which gave a lot of confidence. Turned up at the correct time only to find that the restaurant wasn’t open that day. Staff apologised but were somewhat offhand about it saying “well the pub over the road does food”. Have since found out from reading other reviews that this is not a one off occurrence. To add insult to injury I then received a request to write a review of my non existent dining experience. I realise that the responses I received are computer generated but it is surely not beyond the wit of man to modify the replies for periods that food is not served. I would suggest that anyone considering dining here ring up beforehand just to make sure.

A lovely pub. Always welcoming. Food was excellent, I loved the Lancashire Haggis! Friendly and cheerful service. Very good choice of beers including well-kept local ales. I often recommend the Wheatsheaf. Thanks to everyone!

We've had a few excellent lunches here, but this was our first special occasion - the Festive Christmas Lunch. Warm atmosphere in the barn, attentive and helpful waitress, nice chilled rose wine, excellent roast dinner. Particularly liked the vegetables and gravy - the rolled breast of turkey while good wasn't excellent. We were too full to have pudding! This cafe is wonderful - we can't praise it highly enough - it deserves all the plaudits it gets. Thank you to a brilliant, talented, innovative chef.

Every course was delicious and portions perfect

Booked last minute for 8 , no problems and had a beautiful post walk lunch. Pub cosy , atmospheric and food was amazing.

We have been to the restaurant many times over the last few months, also have a lovely time, good food, and wine, very polite and good service by all staff, have recommended family & friends.
