The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent meal and service as always. See you again soon.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleI came here with my partner on 13th October, booked at 7pm. We had been staying in Grasmere for a few days' break, and our experience had been a little up and down to this point, but choosing Lewis's for our meal on the last night was the best decision. We found the restaurant welcoming, the service efficient and the food absolutely faultless; I had the Lamb Rack and my partner had the Chicken, both top quality and cooked to perfection. The desserts did not disappoint either, Cheesecake for my partner and Affogato for myself, both heavenly. I have read some reviews which have been critical of both the service (rushed) and the menu choice (somewhat limited), but these smaller establishments can really hit the mark; they have not overwhelmed themselves with dozens of menu dishes that they cannot possibly maintain quality over, and speaking personally, we did not feel rushed at all, the service was attentive and it was also efficient, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Perhaps this may not be the ideal venue if you like to make the business of eating into a ritual that lasts all evening, but everything felt just right for us. Would definitely choose to eat here on our next visit, and would not hesitate to recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely friendly pub, good food, good atmosphere. Good value for money too. Totally recommend.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleWe had a table of 4 on Friday night, candle lit dining room lovely staff and great smells from the kitchen we knew this would be a lovely evening. All food served from our pre chosen menu was absolutely delicious, especially the cheese soufflé was on a different level! We all had a wonderful evening, last to leave it was so relaxing. Will definitely come back again.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsAbsolutely cannot recommend the pheasant highly enough, warm cosy atmosphere very friendly and accommodating ,even giving our dog a dog treat. The service was very attentive ,the food was home cooked and piping hot ,I had the fish pie which was amazing and my husband the steak pie which he loved complete with chips and veg, loved it thank you will be back when we visit Keswick again
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe were on holiday at the local Whinfell Forest Center Parcs and came to Grants for a birthday meal. We had an amazing time. The menu was lovely and we can highly recommend the fillet steak, cooked to perfection. With two children in our party, we were delighted to hear that there were child friendly meals such as sausages, southern fried chicken, etc. But going the extra mile, they offered to do a smaller portion of anything on the main menu for the children too. Overall, fantastic service, lovely food and very reasonably priced for such high quality. We will definitely return when we’re back in the area.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithSuperb great food good beer could not fault it. It has to be the best pub in Keswic
Pheasant Inn – KeswickFood was good. Service was very poor I am sure that the people who booked in for the 6-00 sitting thoroughly enjoyed it but I can assure you that the people on the 8-00 sitting did not They are too busy and cannot cope It is obvious when you look at the stressed out staff Please management, just do the 6-00 sitting instead of trying to earn a bit more and spoiling your reputation Also I know it is a thing in the lakes but why do you allow dogs in to a nice restaurant, let them sit in a side room or outside ,not in a room that’s busy where food is being served
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWent here for a meal with my partner. Fantastic food and wine. Two courses and a glass of wine each came to £85 which is quite pricey, but the food was magnificent. I would definitely recommend and return if I was in the area.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWarm hospitality and very good food for reasonable prices. Very friendly staff in a familiar atmosphere. We will come again. Thank you very much.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickBest food in town and always great, friendly service. My favourite place to eat and will choose it every time! Never disappoints.Love La Mezzaluna!
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThe food, atmosphere and service were impeccable. We will definitely be back next time we visit
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was amazing. All of the staff were lovely, very welcoming and polite. We will be going back in 2 weeks for my daughters birthday. Thank you all for a lovely meal for my husbands birthday.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWhilst the food is always good, big problem with bookings - I had a five minute conversation with one of the staff on our previous visit on Sunday, and requested a specific table for a return visit this evening. The member of staff filled this in on the iPad reservation in front of me, so I know it was done. We arrived this evening to find that our table had been given to someone else!! I had requested a table to suit my needs, but this had been totally disregarded. Can I just comment at a time where we are all considering our mental well-being, that not every issue is visible.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickDelicious fresh food served in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere from people who care. What’s not to love.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAlways good honest food at The Pheasant . Staff are always friendly, attentive and pleasant to chat with. Will be going back soon
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe food was very enjoyable, the service was good and the atmosphere was lively considering the time of our sitting. However, the peas served with our meal had clearly not been cooked as they were fridge cold. The staff member we reported it to apologised and said she would pass it on. I didn't think this was a satisfactory response so mentioned it to the staff member who I was paying my bill to and a more acceptable resolution was offered by a reduction to the bill. During the meal, we were not asked if everything was ok. This will not stop us from another visit to The Pheasant.
