First time with our daughter from Scotland and her partner. Excellent meal, we all thought that it was great. Presentation, food quality, taste, style all excellent; staff friendly and helpful. Altogether a first class experience.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDO NOT BOOK ONLINE. I booked and received a confirmation email. I have also received this invitation to review our meal. The only trouble is that THERE WAS NO MEAL. All we got was a brief sorry, no meals this week. Very disappointing after a long day’s drive in a village with little else. There is a small fish and chip/ Chinese takeaway. We resorted to that, it is of dubious quality. Definitely not good enough.
Hope and Anchor – Grange-over-SandsLewis’ is a ‘little gem’. We had a great meal and really enjoyed ourselves in the relaxed setting. There is nothing about this special restaurant that I would change and we will certainly be booking in next time we are in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe atmosphere on a Friday is great and a lot of new faces who are all helpful and welcoming and that just adds to the delicious food. The cobb salad is gorgeous with avocado, eggs, pecans, chicken breast and bacon plus the expected salad leaves but this is more protein than salad so no skimping here and ordered garlic bread without cheese which is my first choice now for the best garlic bread and I love my garlic bread. My friend’s son wanted something plain and this was arranged with no problems and averted a meltdown. We did have to ask for the dessert menu twice but to be fair it was crazy busy. Definitely book in advance if possible.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeQuality food , more than your average pub food . Good size portions, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection! We visited 3 times within a weeks holiday in Keswick . Make sure you book !

Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithMe and two friends visited on Wednesday evening, the place was really busy but with a relaxed dining experience. We all had pasta dishes and all came piping hot and had lots of flavour. The lasagne is amazing! We also had homemade chips & garlic bread with cheese to share both equally as tasty to accompany the mains. Puddings also delicious ! Cheesecake and sorbet both went down a treat. The service was great even with a busy restaurant the service didnt lack! Everything was very reasonably priced for a lovely restaurant! We will be back in the future for another catch up, thankyou!

Pheasant Inn – KeswickGlad we booked as it was very busy, even on a Tuesday evening. We were a party of 4 and all just had main courses. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. I had the goulash, from the specials, which was nice, but the meat was a bit chewy. My husband had the Chicken Balmoral which was delicious, the chips were nice and chunky but sadly were over cooked with a slight burnt taste. We did ask to see the sweet menu, but the member of staff must have forgotten, but they were very busy and to be honest, none of us were all that bothered about having a sweet, so we paid the bill and left.

Pheasant Inn – Keswickwe stayed with friends , stay was lovely , reception were fabulous , down side , restaurant staff had no clue what they were doing , did nit know what a liquour coffee was , simply put a shot in a black cup of coffee? also the lamb was ridiculous one tiny little circle of lamb could hardley see it , for those prices its unacceptable , this needs to be sorted otherwise everything else was nice
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsSuperb venue for our family meal and excellent atmosphere. Staff really nice and attentive and will definitely be returning real soon. Food was fantastic and piping hot.
