Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsDelightful decor, excellent menu choices, great home cooked food with superb service ..... What's not to like!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeYou can only judge a restaurant by your own experience and at Lewis's it was pretty good. We had a nice welcome, attentive service and food delivered quickly and to a high standard. We are foodies who have eaten at some of the very best restaurants in the UK and abroad so we adjust our comments accordingly. We didn't expect Michelin standard food but we did get tasty dishes cooked by someone who knows what they are doing, We left happy that we had eaten here for our last night in Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely food. Chicken dish really good and hubby had the fish pie which he said was excellent. Shared a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream also really good. The service was good, plenty of staff looking after everyone. The dining area was fully booked and I can see why.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickPleased to be able to book a table for 7 in the summer holiday period. We booked a table for 6:00pm which was ready and waiting for us. As expected the place was busy which gave it a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly and efficient. Food portions generous and all our party enjoyed their meals including desert. I live in Keswick and like to take visitors to the Pheasant for a meal.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickCouldn't have been any better, great food and staff. Can't wait until my next visit.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe booked for Sunday dinner and it was fantastic. Home made food, great service would definitely recommend after a day of activities.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat food piping hot straight from the nearby kitchen. Good menu choice. Shame keg beer not available but others very good. Wine excellent. Friendly family pub clearly appreciated by locals and visitors. Will repeat visit.
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleWe came as a family for Sunday dinner and it was absolutely amazing.. can not fault the meal or service, I've already told my friends and family about the Sunday roast.. we will be back.. including the little pug Emma
General Burgoyne – UlverstonBeautifully cooked food, everything home cooked no frozen Yorkshires lovely fluffy/crispy roast potatoes veg cooked perfectly and quality beef how a Sunday roast should be, friendly and fast service, and I love it when the chef takes time to ask if everything is ok shows there passionate, definitely recommend this one
General Burgoyne – UlverstonWelcome was not good, totally ignored left just standing at door , then after 5 awkward minutes ushered to the bar then told your table is over there. Felt like we were an inconvenience Food was excellent , served a bit too fast , need a gap in between to let the meal go down and just relax. Tables very close together . Like sitting in a dining room . Odd atmosphere , felt on guard whole time and as if you should hurry up eat leave. Ladies who took over serving us were fabulous, esp lady from Newcastle - really turned the evening round and made us feel welcome. Thank you
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVeey impressed with both the food and service at Grant's. Both were excellent. We will be back
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExcellent food, very reasonably priced and polite and helpful staff, would definitely recommend

La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWent for the first time on Thursday 3rd August for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithHad a beautiful meal, couldn’t fault anything. Kids loved it too.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleMy husband, myself and 3 year old went to the pheasant inn for dinner. It was spectacular. The lamb Henry is the best lamb I’ve ever had and my husband loved his steak. Service was great and everyone super friendly. Cannot recommend it enough. Even the other customers were friendly and lovely. Superb
