Busy pub but all the staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered the chefs special, venison which was huge and delicious. Really reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back next time we're in keswick. Be sure to book well in advance.

Have been going to the Pheasant for 15 years..always spot on,never disappointed,always 1st class. Roll on my next visit.

Booked Grants just from the look of the menu and it was close to where we was staying, fabulous services, friendly staff and delicious food, worth every penny!

Very enjoyable evening , food very tasty and presentation excellent . Warm and welcoming staff as always . Excellent value for money for a 3 course evening meal.

Overall the meal was disappointing and we felt overpriced. The 4 of us enjoyed the starters. The sea bass main was very good, the cod main was good though the fondant potatoes were more like roast potatoes. Unfortunately the mushroom linguine was tasteless. The sticky toffee pudding had obviously been microwaved and was dry and hard though the sauce was good. Service was unusual.

We had such a great experience at Grants of Castlegate, Penrith. Very friendly helpful staff and the most delicious food. We had scallops which were fresh and beautifully cooked, I could go back and do it all over again. Stunning lamb dish and wine. Really memorable, thank you so much.

We had a good reception and shown to a nice table that was well spaced from others in the main room. Menu was well designed and the food excellent. Good attentive service. When we asked a question they made sure we go the whole answer. We shall return in the winter

Once again we were impressed by the friendly, unfussy service and the good home cooked food, especially the beef pie - along with well kept Jennings beer.

We visited as a party of 7 on a Saturday evening, we had pre booked many weeks before. We enjoyed a delicious meal, everyone just had main courses, the menu catered for a wide range of dietary needs, we had a coeliac and vegetarian within our party and we had plenty of choice. Food was delicious and ample portion size. Staff friendly and helpful

We stopped off at Grants on the way to the Lakes and I’m pleased we did! Phenomenal food, great value and lovely service.

Although the staff were lovely, unfortunately the food was not! And it was very much over priced for what it was. I had the black pudding and mushrooms to start, which actually was really nicely presented, but didn't blow me away and the sauce was very watery. I then had the pork belly for my main which was very dry and cut in a large circle shape making it very filling as usually pork belly isn't that big. The sauce and sides (mash ect) were ok but not worth the £23 I paid for it. The pints of peroni were also extortionate at £7 a pint, which is just ludicrous! With it being dog friendly myself and partner were really pleased we could take our pooch with us, but the inside decor was extremely dated, the front door looked like it needed a repaint to say the least and the windows and sills needed a thorough clean to get rid of cobwebs and dead flies. A shame really as it's in a great spot in Grasmere, but won't be returning any time soon.
