Absolutely brilliant food and friendly staff
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe food was delicious, hot and well presented. Took a long time to take our order, staff seemed to be more interested in folding napkins and chatting together. Male staff on his first day was working his socks off.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickYet again we have had another lovely meal at Lewis’s. They never disappoint. We have visited Lewis’s many times over the years whenever we stay in Grasmere, this year we were staying in Windermere but still made the journey to Grasmere to specifically eat at Lewis’s. The food is always perfect and the staff are so lovely. It’s not the cheapest option, but it is 1000% worth the price and the quality is there. We have tried most things on the menu and everything is so delicious. We will be visiting again as this is our favourite place to eat in the Lake District
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe Pheasant Inn is always our go to when we come back to Keswick for a few days away. It's just what we want in a pub at the end of a hard day on the fells. Great food and beers available and friendly staff who look after us well. The menu is just that bit more interesting than the other pubs in town and the quality is excellent. Yep it works for us and that's why we like to keep coming back.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAbsolutely great evening meal. Makes a great change to have some perfectly cooked vegetables. Best food in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickThis is one of the best food experiences I've ever had. The food was fabulous, the service was amazing, they allow dogs and the wine selection was top quality! Our table was the only let down. Instead of offering us a nice quiet table against the wall, we were offered the table near the front of the restaurant where everyone comes in, walks past and announces their reservation. Like a table on a busy lane. That said, I became so focused on the quality of good and service that I didn't mind as much as I thought. I'm not a fan of tables in the middle of a room like that. It's not peaceful. The staff were kind, perfectly timed and pleasant. 8d recommend this when anywhere near Grasmere. 4/5 only because of the table, otherwise 5/5!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAlways good food and craft ales. Staff friendly and very efficient.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had lunch at the Wheatsheath to celebrate my husband's birthday . We were not disappointed. We both had the fish and chips . They were beautifully cooked and presented. Although the pub was very busy the waitress was very attentive and the wait not too long. Our little dog Evie was welcomed . We will definitely return in the not too distant future.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – Milnthorpeenjoyed a pleasant 2 night b&b with a dinner included. breakfasts were good, the two course dinner included was very nice but left us hungry, some extra cost and fabulous puddings did the trick
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenExcellent service, quirky surroundings and the food was special. Definately worth a visit and we'll be back!
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenWe had a lovely three course meal at Grants to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food and service were excellent and we were made to feel welcome
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithGreat dinner, great pudding, enjoyed the beer and wine good service on a busy sunday evening Thank you
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food and service in an ancient and atmospheric pub. All reasonably priced with good parking available.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBeautiful building with a relaxed atmosphere. The majority of the staff were attentive and friendly. The rooms were of a good size, clean and comfortable. The spa although only small was good and numbers kept low so it wasn’t crowded. The evening meal was very enjoyable with good sized portions. Did not feel rushed at all. Only downside was the breakfast - the hot buffet was cold
The Netherwood Hotel and Spa – Grange-over-SandsPleasantly surprised. Lovely meal and good atmosphere.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent food served by attentive staff, would book again.
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmerehad a very lovely meal, food was delicious staff very attentive will definitely return
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithThe staff were very attentive. We came for Sunday lunch for my mums birthday. The starter options were varied. The vegetable samosa’s with chilli sauce were delicious. The vegetable wellington was so good I could have eaten it again. Not usually something I would choose but will definitely have it again. Portions sizes were great. I would have liked chicken as an option as I don’t eat beef or lamb. Thank god for the vegetable wellington. Dessert selection was delicious
