We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. A lovely little gem of a restaurant in the heart of Grasmere. French onion soup for starter was fab. We both had the Cumbrian fillet for main and it was superb. My girlfriend had hers well done, no pink and after a while stopped using the steak knife provided and used the normal knife. It was still so soft and cut through so easily. I’ve been looking forward to a “good” steak for some time and this did not disappoint. Very tasty, great peppercorn sauce, I’d have preferred thick chips rather than fries but it was still a great meal. We shared a sticky toffee pudding to end the meal and again it was so good. When I’m back in Grasmere I’ll be coming back here. Ambience and service was great and the food superb.
