Abbey House Hotel – Barrow-in-FurnessFab Food, Fab pub say no more!
The Dun Horse Inn – KendalExcellent. I ate at Postilion last night and it was the best meal I have ever had. We came across the restaurant by chance, but what a find! We decided to go for the 3 course menu, which was £15 per person (but plenty of choice). My boyfriend and I ordered different dishes from the menu, both our starters, main courses and desserts were all really delicious. The presentation of the food was also exceptional. Atmosphere and service was excellence - a real bargain for £15 each. Will definitely be going back.
Postilion Restaurant – WindermereExcellent choice of real [local] ales. Well kept and delicious. Barngate brewery beers very good. good food enough to choke a donkey. Be hungry, very hungry!! A nice log fire when needed in small room. Highly recommended.
Sticklebarn Tavern – AmblesideThis is, by far, the best restaurant I've been to! Food was sublime, staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. If you're ever in Ambleside; go to this restaurant!

The Squirrel Inn – PenrithGood pub grub, burger and chips etc, very tasty food at a great price, nice for a spot of lunch and a pint.
General Wolf Inn – PenrithWe ate here last wkd whilst staying in ambleside. The food was absolutely fantastic, we cannot fault a thing. I had pate for starter and fillet of beef for main course...absolutely beautiful food and service was excellent. I must admit it is very pricey (19.00 for main meal) but it was well worth it!! We even tried to book the next night but they had no tables left :-( Overall a great place to eat :-)
The Fulling Mill – AmblesideAll the staff are friendly, quick and efficient.
Costa Coffee – Whitehavenupon visiting grange over sands on a break we ventured to the pheasant inn as it was recommended to us by friends. i ordered the roast beef dinner and my partner ordered a fillet steak. the roast beef was delicious and cooked superbly. my partner enjoyed his meal and said the steak was cooked to perfection. although the pub was very busy the service was very good, when the food arrived you could clearly see why the pub was busy. a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a lovely atmosphere.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-Sandsthat fish pie is one of the best in uk love the hint of saffron, and what a view from beer garden, real gem.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe always have a lovely meal at the two eggcups, the home made soups are some of the best we have tasted. We are always made very welcome by the owner. We think the best cafe in bowness, give it a try next time you're in the area.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickSticky Pudding!!! Wow. Wish we had the recipe.
Casa Bella – KeswickTop quality food, the steaks are particularly good. Toto the manager is very friendly and welcoming. The only downside are the chairs and tables which are a little small and uncomfortable (cafe style). The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. We revisit regularly and no complaints yet. Thoroughly recommend.
