Stampers – AmblesideThe Food was of good quality and authentic. It was better than most Indian Food I have had on my travels. The Onion Bhaji was just right. The Portions are very generous and the Vegetable Pilau Rice is well worth the money.

Oakwood Park Hotel – BramptonDelightful traditional country pub. Delicious food and lovely staff. Comfortable rooms with great views of the fells. Very much a favourite of ours.
Horse and Farrier Inn – KeswickWe spotted the Watermill Inn at Ings nr Kendal at the last minute. What a little gem. Fresh, hot and very tasty pub food at a very reasonable price. The waiters were polite, attentive and helpful. Not to be missed if you like a traditional pub in a lovely setting by the river.
Watermill Inn The – KendalI eat here every chance I can. You can always guarantee excellent food and friendly service. The food is fresh and cooked to a very high standard. Fresh seasonal vegetables are always to a high standard and the home made sweets complete your meal excellently. This is a very popular venue and is quite often fully booked the proprietor always tries her best to accommodate her guests and always makes them feel welcome. Highly recommended
Lowther Castle Inn – PenrithWe have been to Beswicks many times before but this time we had our relations from Australia with us and they could just not believe the quality and value for money that Beswicks give. Excellent food as always and paced just right - not rushed, giving plenty of time to appreciate the food and chat. Lovely atmosphere - just like being in your own dining room.

They just need to get a few high chairs. that? the only worry, sorry but i go out to friends for meals they don? have an high chair so you deal with it. Best chips and roasts in the lakes.

Rydal Lodge Hotel – RydalAfter a recent meal my infrequent visits will become regular visits, The new chef (who I believe only arrived in September) has transformed an acceptable dining experience in to a not to be missed pleasure. Do yourself a favour and prepare to be spoilt.
Fisherman’s Arms Hotel – UlverstonI visited the Herdwick for lunch last friday. It's situated conveniently off the A66 toward keswick off the m6. I had a gorgeous baguette with tarragon chicken. It came with a well dressed salad and was presented well. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambience was typically rustic with a huge fireplace that must be perfect to sit near in the depths of winter.
