Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthNever fails to disappoint offering freshly cooked food served by the happy team. Always seem pleased to see us and very accommodating. We love bringing our visitors here, who come away suitably impressed. Our favourite in the area and never need an excuse not to pop in for a pint or a meal.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWent for a Sunday Lunch, the staff were vey friendly and welcoming. The roasts we had were excellent, with good portions of everything and tasty. I would definitely book again for a roast. I'm looking forward to see what their weekday menu is like.
The Florence – SouthseaWent for Birthday meal, no nice touches like a complimentary drink/shot. Food was OK though some of it cold and when mentioned to waiter, he didn’t offer any replacement.
Baja Mexicali – FarehamGood food nice and fresh and nice and hot ,staff are so friendly we enjoyed having a family roast dinner together,we will definitely becoming again.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonI am a big fan of Maya and sadly the roasts did not live up to our expectations. The plates were cold and the only things that warmed up the meals were the extra portions of cauliflower cheese (which were piping hot) and the jug of extra gravy we requested. The wafer-thin slices of beef didn’t have much flavour and the roast potatoes tasted as though they had been reheated a number of times. Still searching for a really good roast in Southsea.
The Florence – SouthseaThe staff at The Florence are so welcoming and great people. They are so accommodating and even let me order one roast to take away so I could give to my wife after her shift. The food is top notch and the service is quality. A wonderful pub in a wonderful part of Southsea. Will always come back for a pint and a roast!
The Florence – SouthseaRecommended venue did not disappoint. We were there for a special occasion and family had deposited a balloon and had paid for our first drinks - lovely. Lovely food, tapas style which we chose having been recommended by existing diners! The food was delicious and quickly served. The Bar was busy with cocktails and clearly service is a high priority. The team were very professional, knowledgeable and a relatively small menu meant that every dish was perfect and a keen price point. What I particularly liked was the attentiveness of the team hovering tables not only to check the food but to deliver fresh drinks and clear plates efficiently. Our visit on a Saturday evening included a DJ but refreshingly the music volume was just right so we could have a conversation around the table. The music was good as well! This is a professional outfit with a Maitre De controlling the orchestra. Many smiling faces as this is a fun venue. Congratulations to the whole team, totally motivated and enjoying the experience with guests.
Pacifico – SouthseaHad a lovely evening at Pacifico. Serge and then team made it a wonderful experience. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you.
Pacifico – SouthseaAlways a good meal here, no matter what we order. Family friendly atmosphere, and polite service constantly.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonDC and Nic quickly arranged for us to hold a wake in the pub one afternoon. They organised everything quickly and sensitively, including putting hitos on the screens and playing our choice of music. The event was perfect- staff amazing and food was plentiful and very tasty. We really appreciated everything that was done to make a very sad day run without a hitch.
The Townhouse – LymingtonLovely food and excellent friendly service. Reasonably priced and great veggie options. Only thing i would say is that the seats could do with being a little comfier.
Baja Mexicali – FarehamOur first visit Lunchtime yesterday, lovely pub, warm welcome from landlord. The staff were very friendly, efficient & helpful. The menu had plenty of choice ( with daily special board). Food delicious, piping hot and plentiful. Fair prices too. Overall a fab choice of venue and will definitely recommend this pub and certainly will visit again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonSpent a fabulous Sunday afternoon here enjoying food and live music with old friends. Best service, great beer, and the food was served in copious amounts at a very reasonable price. What more could we have wanted. Oh yes, live music to finish it off. Brilliant afternoon of fun and frolics! Would recommend it wholeheartedly.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonOur first time at the pub and we had a lovely lamb roast. Very tasty, came out very hot, plenty of it and served by polite and friendly staff. A proper pub! Thank you.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonBrilliant Sunday lunch, we went for lunch with friends, and we all loved it and will be back again. Staff were super, friendly, the food was excellent and just the right amount, especially loved the roasties.
East End Arms – LymingtonWent to the Master Builder Southampton for a birthday roast. We were a party of 5 .Three of us had a small plate and 2 had a regular size meal .Two had the nut roast. The small plates were ample enough and the meat and veg selection was good (especially the cheesy cauliflower cheese). We had a table in the window but there was also a small conservatory. The staff were polite and efficient.I would definitely recommend as it was excellent value for money and had a nice atmosphere.
The Master Builder – SouthamptonRead that The Florence was good and was not disappointed. Would agree that this probably is the best Sunday Lunch in Portsmouth & Southsea. The food and its presentation was excellent, all clearly cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients and with generous portion sizes. My Yorkshire-born husband was even impressed by the huge, but light and delicious Yorkshire Puddings. The service was friendly and efficient; the décor and ambience was gorgeous and everywhere (including the loos) was super clean, fresh and lovely. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.
