this is simply the best food I have ever eaten. Service is outstanding and I cannot wait to return sometime soon.

Amelies – ChorleyWe visited the Double Tree the other night, and i must say in all the years i have been to Indian cuisine's in the country, Double Tree is most certainly up there as the best i have been to. Tremendous food with a variety to choose from, not like typical Indian cuisines i have been to. The restaurant is immaculate with modern decor, very well presented and extremely polite and courteous staff. Double tree is certainly the place to be.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonThis is the worst chinese food I have ever tasted in my life. The service was no better and the restaurant itself looked shabby.
Stayed overnight after a wedding in another local hotel Very comfortable, provided everything we needed.and made us most welcome.
Windmill Hotel – Blackburni would recommend anyone trying this restaurant , the people who run it and the owner , put you first , my fiance at the time , had a meeting with the owner , and they arranged flowers , wine on ice , chocolates , and a big red heart balloon , all for me , as my now husband now , got down on one knee , and proposed to me , thumbs up to north street for their help , and service with that xxx
North Street Indian Restaurant – RawtenstallWe had heard some very good reviews about this restaurant and decided to give it a try and visited on Thursday tea time at 5.30pm. The restaurant is quite tastefully decorated. We were the only two diners and were shown to our table and given menus. Our starter was the Banquet starter for 2 which consisted of 2 meat samosas, 2 chunks of tandoori chicken and lamb, 2 onion bhajis and some sliced garlic mushrooms with a fried chapatti. The starter was quite tasty but I found the samosa to be quite greasy and didn't try the chapatti as that was also greasy. For mains I chose Exotic Balti which consisted of chicken, lamb and prawns in a Balti sauce. DH ordered a chicken dish (the name escapes me) but it arrived a very vivid orange/red colour containing peppers. He said it was very sweet. We also shared an onion rice side dish which was very tasty but only a small portion for the £3.20 price tag! My Balti had slices of chicken and lamb and ONE king prawn – very mean I thought – and the sauce was not as good as I had anticipated, and I have had many Balti dishes. We had one bottle of King Fisher and one large lime and soda and the bill came to £40.35. I queried the charge of the lime and soda and was shocked to find it was £3.50!! Not impressed! Service was good and so it should have been with only us to wait on, but there were two other couples by the time we left. A nice touch however, was the rose, after eights and hot towel and oranges at the end of the meal. I have to say I was very much looking forward to this meal but left feeling quite disappointed .
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonMy wife and i visited la Vespa on Sunday the 7th of august 2011, the food was excellent and the service was excellent too, i'd go as far as saying the waiters and staff could almost read your mind, they new just what to do and when, £62.50 bought us two very substantial starters with extra starters like garlic bread with cheese and olives and feta in a bowl, my wife had sirloin steak in a cream mushroom type sauce, and mine was the fillet steak with an olive, anchovy, tomato, capers type sauce with roast pots carrots and mange tout served separately X2,and then to finish off was profiteroles and ice cream and a cheesecake with brulee top plus 2 diet cakes and 2 normal cokes, all this food was of the highest quality and the staff were great from start to finish, service with a smile for less than £65.
La Vespa – Clitheroei thought it was posh in side and we had the family some yummy chips.it was nice for me and the little ones
Oyster & Otter Fish & Chip Takeaway – BlackburnVisited after a day out walking around Glasson village. We usually go to The Queen Victoria but it was closed. We decided to try out the Dalton's as we had heard positive noise. The pub was dirty and the landlord hadn't shaved or washed. Service was slow even though there was only one other table in the restaurant. Our food arrived cold and greasy. Salad on the side was brown and lifeless. The whole pub had a funny smell to it, as well as the decorations being drab and dull. There were various instances of loud swearing coming from the kitchen. Overall the whole experience ruined an otherwise splendid day out. Maybe this was a bad day but I shall not be returning to find out otherwise.
Dalton Arms – LancasterMe and my boyfriend go here all the time, we absolutely love it! We are forever ordering re antipasto and pate, the antipasto is a n of Italian meats which comes on a big plate with fresh bread an a bowl of olives, the pate Is freshly made and full of flavour! We always share our starters. But before the starters arrived we had a garlic bread half cheese half tomato, which was tasty. For main course I had Penne Arrabiata I always ask for extra chilli, and this dish is my favourite and I've had it in other restaurants but this is definitely the best one that I've had! My boyfriend had the Fettucini al Fredo which is a tomato based dish with a touch of cream with ham, I tried a bit even thought I'm not a fan of cream and i surprisingly liked it, it's one of his favourites too. We always save room for dessert for me it's the chocolate fudge cake served hot with vanilla ice-cream, and for Jamie the chocolate profiteroles with ice cream, the profiteroles are filled with cream and then coated in a sort of chocolate moose, words to describe are delicious and heaven. Overall the service was fantastic and we were never left with our mouths dry, the waiters and waitresses were so friendly, the owners daughter who is only 18 is full of confidence and easy to have a talk with! I love this place with it's great atmosphere, on a Saturday night you will have to wait but you know that if you have to wait that it's a good restaurant and worth the wait! Brilliant restaurant.
Checcos – BlackburnGreat food and friendly service. Donato regularly comes out of the kitchen to speak with diners, which is a great opportunity for feedback. Prices are reasonable, and there are always some interesting specials to choose from.
La Vespa – ClitheroeAre you taking group bookings yet for Xmas lunches? if so please could you email your menus to me. Many thanks
The Cafe Bar – PrestonWent out to look at lock at Glasson Dock for school project, was drawn to the Stork by attractive window boxes. Lovely friendly staff, great beer garden and excellent food. Highly recommended.
The Stork Inn – LancasterWe eat here almost every week. Without doubt the best fish and chips restaurant for miles! The service is excellent and quality of food is always spot on. As we have visited more than 100 times in the past 3years without a complaint of any kind says something about the consistent quality of this lovely establishment. David, one of the managers, deserves a special mention as his attention to customers is brilliant. We are now having to follow a gluten free diet but no problem for Bannys as they do GLUTEN FREE FISH BATTER AND DESSERT! Cannot recommend this place highly enough!
Banny’s – ColneI would not recommend the restaurant but unfortunately cannot find any other email to complain about the poor food. On Thursday 29th July on recommendation myself and several others booked a meal. I ordered Biriyani and the chiken was full of bits of gristle and skin which totally put me off my meal and the sauce that went with it was luke warm. Several of us also had samosa's for starters and these were swimming in fat and not crispy at all. Others dishes were not up to a good standard and a lot of the food was left. I said nothing at the time as this was a special occasion and i didn't want to spoil it. I live around the corner from the restaurant and was hoping to be able to enjoy a takeaway weekly but after the food on Thursday i really don't think that will be the case unfortunately. I actually love Indian food and was extremely disappointed and would appreciate your comments. Mrs Cattle
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonVisited a few times. Choice for vegetarians. Excellent service, friendly staff and good food, local produce; not 'warmed up in a microwave oven'. Serves delicious puddings a and afternoon teas. Suggest you book first. Paul (Charnock Richard)
Breda Murphy Restaurant – ClitheroeAlways a good meal here and a nice setting too. Well worth the trip over from Blackpool. My son always takes his date here and it does offer something for everyone. You won’t break the bank by sticking with the pizza and pasta but if you want to splash out they have a great choice of main courses and also some top-end and large format Italian wines for the connoisseur.
Italian Orchard – PrestonThe Smiths Arms is a superb place to visit where you're made welcome by all of the staff that work there. They offer quality food and a good selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Go, you won't be disappointed.
