Excellent food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. So glad we walked past and looked at the menu and booked. If we visit York again we will definitely revisit.

This was our first visit to Maxis and it didn’t disappoint! The staff were helpful, friendly and polite. Service was fast and efficient and the food was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be coming again.

Had a meal here last month. Booked online but when we arrived, our booking wasn’t on their list. They’d had some issues with online booking, but immediately found us a table with no issues at all. Food was amazing, and service was very good. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again if we were in Hull. And would recommend for anyone wanting some real traditional Greek food at a very reasonable price!

Went to Roots as haven't been in years and it was even better than I remembered. I had ribs to start, which were outstanding, 10/10. Main was my old favourite which was the Santiago chicken, which never disappoints. Service, atmosphere all brilliant, already booked to you go. Well done guys!

Amazing food & drinks

Our recent meal at the Thai Sabai Restaurant was lovely. A warm greeting from the very friendly and courteous staff as is the norm. The food was excellent and it was lovely to visit a restaurant again. In spite of the restrictions put on restaurant premises during this Covid 19 period , which were strictly adhered to, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The wonderful carvings and wall hangings enhance the authentic ambience of a Thai restaurant. Very much looking forward to our next visit.

Santiago chicken amazing as always!

We've been to Georgios several times in the past and it's always been good, but we were really disappointed on Monday. The restaurant was worryingly not covid safe - half the waitresses weren't wearing face coverings/had them round their necks, yet got very close to us. Our glasses and cutlery were dirty. The food was also disappointing- the four different dishes we had all had the exact same tomato sauce and pretty much tasted the same. The meatballs were burnt and pretty sure the melanzane parmigiana didn't contain any parmesan. Thankfully it was half price- it certainly wasn't worth more than that for a fairly unpleasant and stressful experience.

Absolutely delicious! First time eating out in months and was dubious as to what to expect but the staff were incredible. Soon as we got there the staff made us feel welcome and safe. Our beers arrived in minutes and the food arrived promptly. Oh, the food! The ribs and chicken fell off the bone. Taste sensation. If you haven’t tried it, you should! Thanks Roots team 10/10 from us.

This pub has made our holiday! We popped in on our first night without booking and the staff found us a table for drinks and food. Food is excellent and varied compared to the usual pub grub. We then booked in for Sunday lunch which was great and we are booked in again tonight, can't wait. Staff are friendly and helpful in these difficult times, all this and dog friendly too!

We were recommended Georgios by many people and decided to book it to celebrate my daughters GCSE results , I had prebooked a table for 3 a week before , I did this as I expected it be busy due to the eat out to help out scheme . We arrived on time it was very busy and they had over booked we were asked to go to the pub next door and come back in 15 mins ? We did that , went back it was still busy we bought a drink and waited inside , eventually we got a table , the owner was really apologetic and said he would buy us a drink which I thought only fair after been asked to go back and waiting over half hour to be sat bearing in mind I had pre booked . The food was amazing cannot fault anything with it and the staff were very friendly, we even ordered a pizza to take home for my son it was so good , 10/10 for food and friendliness just disappointed about the service we revived on arrival , and never got the free drink , I will definitely be going back though .
