Platter excellent!

My husband and I have been going to Maxis in York since it opened and prior to that, since 1990 in Leeds. We go at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. In fact, the food is consistently excellent. Truly delicious cantonese cuisine, with a separate cantonese menu for experts. The service is very good, the food coming quite quickly after being ordered. A must for those who love chinese and cantonese food.

Well known for a very long time in York, it was one of the first restaurants to provide high quality, consistently good food. The menu is largely fish, so if you're not a fan, there is not a lot of choice. Food quality is excellent and the food is very good. However, I don't think that the food was as good as the cost. A good cook at home could probably produce similar results. I must mention that the portions are huge, and even the largest of appetites will be more than satisfied. The langoustines were particularly delicious. There are more imaginative, creative menus in York. Good food, but not worth the huge bill at the end.

My girlfriend and i have been to this restaurant many times and found the food outstanding. The service is excellent the staff are also pleasant and helpful. We will returning again.

The bankhouse is a great place to go if you want some great pub/restaurant food, really good quality, nice atmosphere, fantastic views...definitely recommend it.

I have now been a number of times following a recommendation. Other than the excellent food the big thing for me was the children's menu: they basically give them small versions of the full menu at a reasonable cost. It's one of the best restaurants in York and my daughter loves it.

This is a great little we spent most of our time outside with our little boy as there is a slide and climbing frame etc. The food is always good we are never disappointed. go and along and see for yourselves.

As a passing customer I just called in for 5 minutes and ended up stopping half the day sampling the finest real ales and great food cooked by the landlady and great staff i would recommend this pub to any one ps cant wait to call again yours pab 1

WOW. I am so pleased to have visited this restaurant last night we all had the time of our lives. My first ever visit (although i have heard others mention it)and from the first foot in the door to our exit i have no complaint. We were greeted with smiles and then after a drink at the bar we we taken to the table. The decor fresh and bright, very stylish (you can tell a lot of thought as gone into it to get it just right). We needed longer with our menu as it was so varied. The special fish board caught my eye. We were finally ready to order. The waitress was very helpful with enquiries and recommended several dishes. I choose the grilled salmon in a massala sauce with king prawns and scallop and mashed potato for my main, my mum choose the duck in orange sauce with savoury rice,my dad opted for fillet steak in a peppercorn sauce with seasonal veg and my sister being a veggie ordered a pasta dish with asparagus and green peas. We couldn’t wait as they all sounded so good. We ordered a pizza garlic bread to share for starter. The restaurant was buzzing with ambience. We watched staff buzzing around making sure everyone was ok. Staff and customers all happy. It is just a great place. Our main courses came and we were not disappointed my salmon was to die for, my dad said his steak was the best he had eaten for a long time, we were all very impressed. We couldn’t manage sweets as we were all full. We ordered another bottle of house wine (the waiter asked if we would like to go to the lounge area upstairs we said yes why not). We were escorted to the lounge with our drinks, we couldn’t believe it another enormous room with an organist. We spotted the leather settees and sat down. What a lovely relaxing end to a fantastic evening. Well done grappolo you made our night. On the way out we booked again. See you soon.

Love it at the Toscana, Smoked Salmon and Norwegian Prawns as a starter, followed by The House Special Fillet Steak come HIGHLY recommended ! And the Kids eat Free (Sun - Thursday evening)check first though. Must be good as we just keep going back Always very well looked after !

Without doubt, the best Sunday dinner in South Yorkshire. Carvery with high quality home cooked food that will not leave you disappointed. I challenge you to come away hungry.

American diner food at it's finest. Great burgers, great cocktails, great atmosphere. Get down to the Jazz night once a month, it's fantastic.

I went to Kito's last year with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. Normally with a group of 12 people you'd expect at least one person unhappy with their choice of food, or for somebodies order to be wrong etc, not a t kitos'! They scored a perfect 12 out of 12 , we had a great time, felt looked after, delicious food, and very reasonable bill! Highly recommended.

Beautiful food and very good service. The specials are to die for especially the lobster (or crab) in yellow curry. My husband's favourite restaurant by far!

We have been going to Bari now for 3 years...and everytime we have a brilliant meal. There are so many Italian restaurants in York but we pick Bari everytime! We recommend booking as it can get very busy! Great atmosphere! Great food!

Is it just me that isn't wild about this place? Its alright yes and certainly doesn't deserve a slating, but i don't think its as amazing as other places in leeds and i don't understand why the place is regarded as something special! I've been to BiBi's a few times, trying different dishes on each visit. I've never been disappointed, but then again i certainly wasn't blown away! Looking at the prices of the food that i consider 'alright' but not amazing, i don't think its reasonable in my personal opinion and i would only go to BiBi's at another persons suggestion. In terms of Italian food, Dino's meals are just as good, and cost less and even Pizza express do better pizza! The service was friendly and quickish granted, but i find the decor very odd - the outside of the place looks lovely but see through glass toilet doors, big plasma screens playing adverts, an absolutely packed bar and wicker chairs aren't quite my cup of tea when eating in a 'fine italian restaurant'.... I'd much rather cross the road to eat in the equally priced thai restaurant. Its much better there all around and deserves more praise than BiBi's!

Excellent chilled out place to go. Food is great and service is brilliant! Sort of place you can do posh food in jeans!

When are Doctors going to prove that eating F&C is good for your health? Could VERY happily eat at Graveleys 247 :-)
