Lovely upstairs restaurant, prices around £6 for starter, £12 for main course. Food delicious - lovely menu, not too pretentious, everything very tasty. Have made several return trips!

We had a lovely meal with excellent service. The food is fresh, and I particularly enjoyed grilled sardines as a starter. Mrs P enjoyed the meze: quality of the meze was good, but might have benefited from a wider selection, our only quibble. I enjoyed casserole of lamb with a side order of fresh vegetables. Service was excellent throughout. The owners go to real trouble to make this a welcoming and enjoyable place, and we recommend it as an informal but charming place to drop in and enjoy. We have eaten in a lot of places from New York's Nobu to the Maldives, but this is one of our favourites; simply welcoming and with good food. We are fortunate that it is on our doorstep!

Always a good meal here, and great choice for vegetarians. The meals aren't as traditional as you would get at many Indian restaurants, and I would say they are on the mild side. A great place to take a mate who isn't a curry fan... this will win them over!

Great experience! You choose your ingredients (lots of fresh veggies, tofu, chicken, beef, crocodile, ostrich etc. etc.!) and then take it to the chefs who stir fry it in your choice of oil, sauce & garnish. Endless combinations and so fresh! Meanwhile fresh fluffy rice is put on the table to accompany your stir fry. Set price for as many visits to the chefs as you like... I think it's about £15 if I remember rightly, but it is cheaper off peak times. Great for kids as they can get involved in choosing their food!

Cheerful, friendly place, I like the booths to sit in, nice and private. Food good, not stunning, but certainly tasty. Friendly staff make you feel very welcome.

Superb food at this out of the way but v popular pub restaurant. You can turn up on spec but if you book you are guaranteed a restaurant seat and same menu as the bar. Excellent food with good service and good beers to boot. Recommended.

I visited for the first time, 4 weeks ago with a group of eight. We had a warm welcome, and the table was of a comfortable size. The food was good but pricey the service was rigid all nice girls but reading from a script, nothing natural, struggled to smile. As a party we enjoyed ourselves and went home with a smile.

I really enjoyed the food here and thought that the cost was not that expensive with regards to another Teppanyaki restaurant in Leeds. I would definitely recommend it to another.

Not only that but they are cooked ultra fresh in a no-nonsense environment and you couldnt ask for more if good food is what you want. Confused by the comment by another reader who said its a chinese food joint pretending to be japanese - I am chinese and there is nothing remotely chinese about this place, the food, chefs and character definitely aren't. I think you must be getting this place confused with Tampopo and Little Tokyo which are taking the mick.

As we were a party of ten we were served four starters and three main courses family style. Absolutely everything I tried was delicious. I was especially impressed by the crispy vegetables, steak and papaya salad and pork in caramel sauce. Service was also excellent - the staff were friendly, helpful and brought everything quickly. Will definitely be returning here.

Shama Balti is our 'local' and a very good reason for never moving. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food is fantastic, service is prompt and not at all intrusive. Ginger chicken or lamb are top recommendations and the tandoori roti are fab. A real hot flannel and a carnation for every female diner are the end to a lovely evening. My recommendation - walk on to the Slubbers Arms for the best pint of Tim Taylor's Golden Best afterwards and put your carnation somewhere to cheer up the neighbourhood on your way.

The girls that work there are hot. Esp the one behind the take away counter... Asians are ace.

We visit this pub on a regular basis for the friendly atmosphere and warm greeting that you always get. James and Marie and all the Staff provide service of the highest standard. The bonus is the food, always good, always served with a smile and at a very reasonable price. I have recommended it to many and will continue to do so>

An excellent Sunday afternoon was spent here, I enjoyed it so much that I intend to make my sunday afternoons dedicated to the lounge bar. The bar staff are gorgeous (with the exception of one).

The Laxmi is by far the BEST Indian Restaurant I have ever visited, over the years I visited many. We always come back. The variety of dishes is amazing. You also get what you pay for, and plenty left over to take home. When you are in the area you must visit The Laxmi, proper indian food. Keep up the good work Chanda.
