Ning – Northern QuarterWe attended for a friend's birthday party on Saturday evening, November 8th and Gurkha Grill made it one of the most upsetting and distressing nights of our lives. We were disgusted by the owner's attitude. We had originally booked for a table for 16 but due to cancellations we rang up and spoke to a lady there and reduced it to 10. When we met up before, for a drink, three people were ill with gastric flu - reducing us now to 7. When we arrived there was a table for 10 laid out - not 16 - so they obviously received our earlier message. But a party who arrived and wanted somewhere to sit were told it was full - even though we informed the waiter and the party stood in front of us that we were only 7 and they could have our left over seats. For some reason they were not given the space and left, which seemed odd. We sat down and ordered drinks and food and had poppadums, then about 20 minutes after arriving the bald-headed manager bulldozed over. He was incandescent with rage and demanded to know who was the girl who organised the birthday party. He ranted and raved about why there wasn't 16 of us - we explained they clearly got the message and apologised for the other three but what can he expect a group to do if people fall ill? He was furious and so angry and we said we were paying and here now and what was the problem? He told us he did not care whether we were here or not. A couple at a neighbouring table then piped up and asked him to be quiet. He said it was his restaurant so why should he? By now the whole place was silent and you could hear a pin drop. This brave couple said that we were paying customers now and he should not talk to us and he told them it was none of their business. They were so angry they got up halfway through their meal and walked out. Then, even more angry, he turned on me and said we were responsible for all this. Utterly humiliated, angry - my wife was in tears - and I lost my cool and told him to go away and used the 'f' word which I'm not proud of - this made him so mad he stuck his finger in my face and told me to "F**k off!!!" He was going to hit me and his staff realised it as the waiter with glasses and dark hair who had taken our order tried to restrain him but he flung him off (he nearly sent him to the ground) twice and that was when my wife dragged me out, fearing he was going to attack me. As i left - keeping my cool - I turned and said that all the customers in his restaurant who saw his behaviour towards us will never come back after this and amazingly he said: "I don't care - I don't need them. I have my food and it is the best so I will get more customers!" Nice customer service. I hope you send it on to the owner and his business partners. I hope he will apologise to us. I regret using the "F" word but he had already at that time been so aggressive I wanted him to step away from me and feared for my safety. We still do not understand what we did wrong but I hope no-one every eats there after what he did to us.
Gurkha Grill – DidsburyProbably one of the best restaurants I have ever visited.
Amici – StockportHad a lovely lunch with the family and received attentive service from the staff. The hot chocolate was superb and there was a good selection of gifts in the downstairs shop.
Chocolate Cafe – RamsbottomI go two times a week, food is nice and the staff is friendly but ben the waiter is too friendly it will be better to do some massages to costumers, haha joking you are brill ben
Romanos – OldhamI had to arrange a funeral reception at short notice and Ann at The Swan was able to accommodate our requirements. We were given the use of the restaurant area for as long as we wanted and a hot buffet was provided with two main choices and two desserts. The helpings were generous and the food was all home made and tasted excellent. The vegetables were fresh. The staff were very friendly and efficient and I cannot thank them enough.
Swan With Two Nicks – AltrinchamThis is a local restaurant to me and has always been excellent whenever we visit either for a meal or a bar snack. Staff are helpful and the owners are always around ensuring everything is spot on. Highly recommended.
Wayfarer Restaurant – WiganLove this place. From the minute I walked in I felt comfortable. Everyone gives you a warm smile and a genuine greeting. The food, service, ambiance was all perfect. I will definitely be back
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City Centreavoid at all costs unless you enjoy having mice running around your table whilst dining !! we witnessed a waiter stamp on a mouse then kick it under the bar area with a skill that has obviously been well practised
Chaophraya – Manchester City CentreIf people have enjoyed eating here they must consider McDonalds wonderful. It is, how do I phrase this, I know, absolutely rubbish! It is posh, for chavs. Kerry Katona would love it! If you want a drink you have to get up from the table and go to the bar, oh how posh is this! The background music is wonderful -the sound of silence. The service is second to none, and I mean there is none! It really shows Wigan at its best - I think not! If your standards are low, this is for you. Cheese, cheese and more cheese. Get a takeaway.
Rigalettos – WiganThe food is very authentic Korean. The Korean meatballs really were the dogs b******s
Koreana – Manchester City CentreVisited Earle for the first time last week and was impressed. The service, food and atmosphere were all spot on, and when the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see that it came it at just £30 each, including our drinks. We'll be going again, and recommend it to anyone for a great meal out in Hale.
Earle Restaurant – HaleI like caspians the best cos it does chillo kebabs and they are yummy
Caspian – RusholmeAte here recently (22/10/08) and it was terrible. Starters were poor, i had Livebait and the salad was at least 2 days old!! Brown and sullen looking. My wife had the fishcakes which were even worse!! Think Bird's eye fishfingers in a round dumpling shape!! Absolutely tasteless, no seasoning and the sauce was stone cold. Ordered 2 mushroom pizzas and the nightmare continued - frozen bases which had been put in the oven and come out all biscuity in texture and taste. Appalling. Avoid at all costs.
San Rocco – Ashton Under LyneWe have been to the Pearl on several occasions and we always have an excellent experience. The food is incredible - my husband raves particularly on the lamb chop starter - and the portions are plentiful. The staff are very attentive and the service both swift and professional. Our children are always welcomed as heartily as we are and enjoy the different selections to experiment with. With the modern, plush decor and extended bar area, the Pearl is a great place to enjoy a special occasion.
Pearl Restaurant Bar and Lounge – Audenshawthe food was awful and tasteless and very greasy we were overcharged for items that we did not order nor did we get DONT EAT THERE
Desi Lounge – FailsworthVery impressed with the Dim Sum it was the best I've had and my very hard to please Mother was equally impressed! Staff very polite. Prices are not bad all though if I was super critical the 1 king prawn in shell for £5 was very tasty but not a lot for price, don't mind paying as much if it's tasty! We are definitely going to come here again and bring friends. Thank you for lovely evening.x
