Good food and more importantly good wine. Better atmosphere than La Tasca, really surprised it's part of the same chain as the food was far superior.

La Vina – HaleMuch, much better than Deansgate restaurant. My partner is very fussy but he liked everything we ordered. Staff happy to move us away from smokey bar upon request. Generally a very enjoyable evening.
La Vina – HaleThe chef is fantastic
Rigalettos – WiganEnjoyed a beautiful meal, in lovely surroundings, staff very friendly highly reccomend you try this restaurant
Mala Indian Cuisine – BuryWhat can you say about this place, alas everyone now seems to have found out what I have known for ages. This is one of the best restaurants in Manchester, and easily the best numerous curries I have had as well. Please start giving it terrible reviews so I do not have to wait so long for a table.
Akbars – Manchester City CentreAn excellent place to visit. Great food and ambience, friendly staff and no pressure to move off after eating. Family friendly too. Very helpful staff and accommodating when alterations to the tapas were requested. Will definitely visit again!
Bulls Head Inn – SaddleworthHave been a couple of times now & this place really offers the most authentic Italian experience in the city! The vibrancy & buzz of the place is testament to the sheer quality of the food on offer. A vast menu often disappoints with freshness, but not here and at £80 for 3/4 courses each the automatic levy of 10% service charge does not have you nashing your teeth but purring with pleasure!
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreMy sister-in-law and I went to Azzurro's on a Tuesday night in July. We had booked, just as well because even at 7.30pm it was filling up. Service was fabulous, food was delicious and cost was fair. I am very pleased to recommend and am looking forward to returning with other friends soon - we will be travelling from the other side of town - but well worth it!
Azzurro Restaurant – DidsburyService and food go hand in hand in this excellent thai restaurant, but the real winner for us was the birthday celebration for one of our party- the whole kitchen brigade all appear singing 'happy birthday' and crashing symbols - hillarious! No idea who was left holding the wok though, as everyone seemed to be at our table.
Chaophraya – Manchester City CentreAs a vegetarian, (with a non vegetarian husband) you'd be hard pressed to get a better menu and quality of food in this comfortably casual restaurant !...The only problem is getting a spur of the moment booking! It's popular so you have to plan to eat there...fab place and one of the best for a great night out with friends or family...highly recommended!
Greens – DidsburyMy wife and I went for our anniversary and would highly reccommend it. The food was excellent and the entertaining chefs were excellent too. We went on a tuesday at 19.30 and there were only two tables occupied so we had very good service and didn't feel rushed.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreSince the restaurant opened we have been regular customers. We have found it to be a well-run friendly and clean eating place, Congratulations!!
Pacifica Cantonese – EcclesWent for my 60th birthday celebration on July 8th. There were 27 of us plus 1 toddler. We'd agreed a menu choice beforehand with 4 starters, 4 mains plus a veggie option and 4 sweets. One of the main course choices was Sunday lunch which effectively increased the number of choices since there was lamb, beef or turkey available. The organisation was excellent. The pre-dinner drinks were available when we arrived & the staff went round taking orders while we had a drink. When the starters were ready we were all served together & the food was good. The main courses were excellent - plenty of good quality food well presented & in the case of the steaks, cooked as requested. Any minor hiccoughs were very rapidly sorted out with customer satisfaction being uppermost. The sweets too were good & the whole meal was nicely paced - not too fast but without any long waits. The staff were very attentive & wine glasses were kept filled without having to ask. All in all a very enjoyable experience and it's clear that the manageress Ann Amphlett who took over about a year ago has made a big difference. The staff looked happy & the food was nicely cooked to a high standard. I felt it was good value for money & the staff earned their tip.
Swan With Two Nicks, The – Altrincham3 girs, nice bar, and surprisingly good food! We booked to make sure we could get in - Friday night. It wasn't overcrowded and felt really relaxed. The staff were happy to give us extra time to gossip & deliberate over the menu. Caramelised onion and goats cheese tart was delicious. Steak was cooked exactly as I liked it & staff happy to help with wine choices. Overall they were very tolerant of our slowness which made for a really relaxed evening.
Bluu – Northern QuarterI have been on a couple of occasions, always as part of a group on a quieter evening. The staff coped OK, to be fair very few places enjoy serving a reasonable sized group. We always opt for a eze - and always forget the kebabs and moussaka that come out at the end. Why? because usually the food is plentiful & we are all stuffed long before. Food is tasty, reasonably authentic & we usually have a great time - I would recommend it.
Kosmos Taverna – FallowfieldIts the little touches we liked most. They coped very well with a group of 14, getting all the food out in a timely fashion and together. Argentinian sausages were a delicious starter. Our Cow was called Daisy - I guess that could put some people off but we loved it. Steak was perfect, and we couldn't even face the dessert menu. The cocktails were delicious too - definitely worth a visit but be prepared to pay a little bit more than average.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreOne of my favourite greek restaurants. Meze's good but so are the chef specials - always worth looking. The atmosphere is great & I always leave feeling pleasantly full & chilled out.
Dimitri’s Tapas Bar Taverna – Manchester City CentreWent here for the first time on a random Sunday eve after deciding that our usual haunt was too far away for us today. We had Sunday roast, I had lamb, g/f had beef and we shared half and half. Both were excellent. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
