Fantastic! Great food, good friendly service. Better than all the city centre Chinese restaurants.

Fantastic! Great food, good friendly service. Better than all the city centre Chinese restaurants.
Pacifica Cantonese – EcclesHave been to smiths lots of times over the last few years. They seem to be one of very few places that improve with time. The staff are excellent and the quality of the menus available are second to none. Whether its the Tuesday jazz night, an early tea or a night out with friends there is no place better place to fill you up and leave you looking forward to your next visit
Smiths Restaurant – EcclesThe staff were lovely although they had to be reminded of the water and wine we ordered. We went for the full three courses and the food was by and large exceptional. My companion and I had the fish specials for our main course and both were excellent. The cheese board was a disappointment, it looked like it came from Somerfield down the road!
Lusitano – Chorlton5 of us dined at the San Carlo on Tuesday 23/10/07. The food was good, however, it tended to go cold very quickly as the plates had not been heated sufficiently. We were also presented with vegetables that had not been ordered. The service on the other hand was quite simply abysmal; apart from one very recently recruited member of staff, the rest displayed at best, a very disinterested attitude (until it was time for the bill). They were however, very attentive to a table consisting of 6 scantily clad young ladies! The bill itself was an art form in over-pricing. Not only were we charged for 2 bottles of wine that we hadn’t consumed, we were also charged at a higher rate than shown on the wine list. All in all, the over-charging amounted to in excess of £70, plus the standard 10% service charge, meant that we would have been out of pocket by some £77! It is not acceptable in this day and age, particularly as there is so much competition in central Manchester, for this type of lackadaisical and very poor attitude to service to be tolerated. A very disgruntled diner.
San Carlo – Manchester City Centrei have been going to this restaurant for 8 years and it is the best curry house in Manchester. get a chicken kahari and you wont look back. the staff make you feel very at home and it is excellent value for money.
New Far Pavilion – SwintonThe coffee was cold. We ordered 6 Tapas - the 'salad' was no more than a garnish and very limp. The squid was inedible, chorizo ok and I didn't bother with anything else.My companion ate some beef because she was so hungry. The waitress was surly. We left there and went to San Carlos.
Evuna Deansgate – Manchester City CentreI had lunch today and was very disappointed. I used to eat at Dimitris when I lived in Manchester 4 years ago, but obviously times have changed. The food whilst palatable was not up to the standard I remember and the decor is now very shabby. The outside eating area seems better and is probably lovely in the summer, but not in October in England and did seem to be a bit of a thoroughfare. Never mind, there are lots of restaurants in Manchester - I will have fun trying them out
Dimitri’s Tapas Bar Taverna – Manchester City Centrethe cow & calf in my experience is one of the best restaurants i have ever been too the food is wonderfully presented and tastes even better! Sunday lunch is 2 three course meals for only £7.95 and is the best Sunday roast i have ever tasted its all homemade and fresh also the beer is the cheapest around and probably the best! so the cow & calf is definitely worth a visit!
Cow And Calf Inn – StockportI love little yang sing it's the best Chinese restaurant in the country and i will come here forever.
Little Yang Sing – Manchester City Centrethe best restaurant in town, where we had a great friendly service quiet comfortable surroundings most of all the food is great.
Last Monsoon – StockportMy wife and I along with two friends visited the restaurant on Saturday the 20th October 2007, Our overall opinion was the food and ambience was good but not exceptional for the price paid. The portions were not over generous, and only a small platter of greens served to share between four people. potatoes not included seemingly?Although we have visited before we would not be inclined to revisit in the near future.
The Waggon At Birtle – Burywe went to the moon last week after reading that it had been voted one of the top 10 curry houses in the country by the guardian. It didn't disappoint. The food was fresh, very tasty and in a different league to much of the standard fare offered up in Rusholme. For 4 of us for 2 courses and a few beers the bill came to £58. Will definitely be returning soon.
Moon Indian Restaurant – DidsburyBrilliant addition to Piccadilly Gardens. Thought the food was very tasty (I like spicy food) and excellent value. I had a burrito, nachos and a beer for just under £7. Good place to start on a night out!
Barburrito – Manchester City CentreFor £8.99 a three course menu of good, honest, homemade (not just home cooked) food is presented. Even the carrot cake was homemade! Everytime I've visited I've been left exceptionally satisfied by the quality and value with good service by staff who soon remember the regulars.
Grosvenor Casino Soames, Manchester – Manchester City CentreI am a regular at this restaurant and i find the food delicious and tasty. I have been to many curry houses in the area and around Manchester and none compare to this place. the ultimate best curry house in the North West. 10/10.
New Far Pavilion – SwintonWent for late lunch on Saturday afternoon. Excellent for a chain bar/restaurant. Open kitchen. Excellent service. Good food. Very quiet at the moment. Guess it's busier during the week and week day lunchtimes for the office staff around there.
The Slug and Lettuce – SpinningfieldsIt is hard to describe how great it is to have such a first class restaurant in Urmston. I have eaten here mid-week, weekend and on "specials" such as New Years Eve, and the food has been consistently excellent, the service informed and attentive. The owners have a real commitment to sourcing local produce and have a real passion which comes through in their menu and attention to detail. I truly hope that Isinglass remains the benchmark and goes from strength to strength as Urmston redevelops.
Isinglass – Urmstoni came to san carlo on wed 17 oct for the first time ever and i must say i was very impressed. The staff are very welcoming and friendly even though they are very busy. My friends and i are all fish lovers and eat out regularly but i must say san carlo i havent experienced excellence like that for a very long time, well done. Could you give the fish chef a big pat on the back please. Thank you for a great night and see you very soon.
