Church Inn The – BuryFor my husband to be impressed by the food at any restaurant it has to be exceptional - he loves the food in Petra which says something!! We have recommended Petra to many friends who have all enjoyed the food, the service and the evening - All have returned again and again, as have we?!
Petra – RusholmeThere are two Italian restaurants in Standish and both opened at about the same time. If you want an Italian meal prepared by Italian chefs in a wonderful atmosphere, go to the Olive Garden and not the other one. I've been several times to the Olive Garden and a couple of times to the other place - Olive Garden's pizza and garlic bread are absolutely delicious and cannot be beaten.
Olive Garden – WiganWe visited for the 2 course Sunday lunch (£8.95 for two courses). The food was great and the service attentive but unobtrusive. Will definitively be having the Sunday lunch again in the near future.
Gallimores – WiganWe have always had a meal that was enjoyed by all the family. Now want to book online for Christmas lunch. Anyone know their Email address/Web page?
The Owls At Standish – WiganThe spicy hut continues to be the place to eat on the curry mile, we often try other places now and again, but always return to the Spicy Hut. The service is spot on and the food always good. Another point is that they don't skimp on the portions of rice etc. so you always leave "full as a house". David from Timperley
Spicy Hut – RusholmeThe food at the restaurant is pretty good but the attitude of the maitre d' is appalling. The rest of the staff were helpful. Food takes a long time to come. Even the starters!?!.
Lal Qila – RusholmeThe food here was very good indeed. We had the green and red curries, which were creamier than most thai curries, and very tasty. The restaurant seemed to be suffering from a few teething problems still, as far as service and organisation are concerned, but the food more than made up for it. Finally we can buy thai food on Beech Road! :)
Thai Spice – ChorltonGood food and more importantly good wine. Better atmosphere than La Tasca, really surprised it's part of the same chain as the food was far superior.
La Vina – HaleMuch, much better than Deansgate restaurant. My partner is very fussy but he liked everything we ordered. Staff happy to move us away from smokey bar upon request. Generally a very enjoyable evening.
La Vina – HaleThe chef is fantastic
Rigalettos – WiganEnjoyed a beautiful meal, in lovely surroundings, staff very friendly highly reccomend you try this restaurant
Mala Indian Cuisine – BuryWhat can you say about this place, alas everyone now seems to have found out what I have known for ages. This is one of the best restaurants in Manchester, and easily the best numerous curries I have had as well. Please start giving it terrible reviews so I do not have to wait so long for a table.
Akbars – Manchester City CentreAn excellent place to visit. Great food and ambience, friendly staff and no pressure to move off after eating. Family friendly too. Very helpful staff and accommodating when alterations to the tapas were requested. Will definitely visit again!
Bulls Head Inn – SaddleworthHave been a couple of times now & this place really offers the most authentic Italian experience in the city! The vibrancy & buzz of the place is testament to the sheer quality of the food on offer. A vast menu often disappoints with freshness, but not here and at £80 for 3/4 courses each the automatic levy of 10% service charge does not have you nashing your teeth but purring with pleasure!
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreMy sister-in-law and I went to Azzurro's on a Tuesday night in July. We had booked, just as well because even at 7.30pm it was filling up. Service was fabulous, food was delicious and cost was fair. I am very pleased to recommend and am looking forward to returning with other friends soon - we will be travelling from the other side of town - but well worth it!
Azzurro Restaurant – DidsburyService and food go hand in hand in this excellent thai restaurant, but the real winner for us was the birthday celebration for one of our party- the whole kitchen brigade all appear singing 'happy birthday' and crashing symbols - hillarious! No idea who was left holding the wok though, as everyone seemed to be at our table.
Chaophraya – Manchester City CentreAs a vegetarian, (with a non vegetarian husband) you'd be hard pressed to get a better menu and quality of food in this comfortably casual restaurant !...The only problem is getting a spur of the moment booking! It's popular so you have to plan to eat there...fab place and one of the best for a great night out with friends or family...highly recommended!
