Buffet City – Manchester City CentreMy wife and I go into Manchester every week to sample the flavours of what the city has to offer, my wife suggested going to a place called 'The English Lounge', located not too far from the Arndale Centre, an establishment, recommended by a friend of hers who had dinned there before and had enjoyed it herself. We had a drink in the bar as we arrived about 10mins before our booking time to get relax and get a feel for the place. You look around and can tell a lot of thought has gone into the place. We had placed in front of us a beautifully presented and designed menu, offering a very varied choice of both, continental meals, and English dishes. The meal was perfection! 10/10 at the end of the meal (Both feeling very full and had 2 bottles of wine plus the 2 bottles of water to keep us standing up right). I can only thank the staff for being both friendly, and delightful in their approach and mannerism's. When we left I explained to the manger we had not had service like that from a waiter more helpful for a long time. Last note this place is a must for anyone wanting the best of Manchester, and highly rate this establishment, as a must for both dining and sampling a great range of wines and real ales. English Lounge – Northern QuarterWent to English Lounge on a Friday night and the whole evening was brilliant, entertaining and a great start to the weekend. Huge portions!! It was well worth it as the price for a main dish alone can be under £6.00. Our table was delighted with the service, drinks we constantly refilled. We couldn? finish our main courses & next time (there will definitely be a next time!) would probably just opt for mains! A brilliant, lavishly furnished restaurant - perfect for drinking copious amounts of wine with delicious food. Brilliant!
English Lounge – Northern QuarterA little gem in the country, what a menu and the Rigbye lamb simply is the best!! Be prepared to wait for a table though we waited 45 mins but definitely worth waiting for. We will be back to sample more. Definitely a food destination and the staff are very friendly too.
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganGorgeous cocktails, lovely food (red pepper soup is to die for), fantastic views and great service. Will certainly visit again.
Harvey Nichols Second Floor Restaurant – Manchester City CentreGood local Italian food cosy
Leo’s – HorwichThe food tasted incredibly fresh, and with the real Mediterranean taste. Simply outstanding 100% satisfied. 100% recommended.
Rozafa Taverna – StockportI have been many times and it always maintains a very high standard. The food is excellent and always fresh and authentic. The staff are professional, very polite and efficient. It's ideal for theatregoers - if you tell them, you can have an aperitif, three courses, coffee and pay, easily in under an hour. If you want a leisurely meal however, it is advisable to tell them that you are in no rush. Overall, excellent food, good service and not expensive.
Topkapi Palace – Manchester City CentreWe were a party of 6 over the holiday period but were seated immediately. The food was both superb and plentiful, as no one had been checking the prices when ordering the bill (including 4 starters, 3 bottles of wine, beer, 2 desserts and coffee) of £180 was exceptional
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreCan't believe the existing review for the Owls, I live locally and everytime I've been it's been great food for amazing prices 3 courses for £5.95 Mon-Fri and Sunday! How anyone can say it's expensive, is beyond me. Even on Saturday night it's very reasonable. Plenty of choice for meat eaters and vegetarians - give it a try!
The Owls At Standish – WiganI love curries and this place does the best! great to pop in after work to make sure we get fed! Absolutely gorgeous!
Kushoom Koly – StockportFour of us went to Tampopo for lunch. The food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely return next time we visit the Trafford Centre!
Tampopo – Trafford CentreMyself and two other dinners ate at the beginning of December 2005, after a very long time of giving the place a very wide birth. Having recently had a change of management we decided to give the place one more try. The three of us thoroughly enjoyed our starters and mains (we couldn't fit a dessert in.) There was some mix up with over charging on the bill, but the waitress' sorted out the problem without any fuss. Will be going back again in early 2006! Great to see the place busy again, looks like the new team are building the establishments reputation back up with great success.
Town Cafe Bar – StockportFantastic warm and friendly service, very eager to please at all times. The food is delicious and very good value for money. Can take your own alcohol and they chill it and serve as required. TRY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!
Cafe Lahore – OldhamThe service was amazing, friendly and very personal (...sadly this doesnt seem to be a British priority these days) and that is why I return here over and over again!!!! No grumbles about the quality of the food (Im very fussy about meat but the quality of the meat here was excellent) and the restaurant decor is very contempory and modern, yet cosy not sterile!
Balti Brasserie – EcclesLiving almost 30 miles away near Blackburn, I have visited the Nawaab 7 times all in all during the past 18 months. I have been with my work colleagues on 6 of these occassions and Ive taken members of my family on a variety of these visits. The food and the atmosphere for what you pay is excellent. I'm hoping to take some more family members down this weekend. Try it you shall not be disappointed.
Royal Nawaab – LevenshulmeEach time we have a meal here the service and food is excellent. They are very children friendly and they always make you feel welcome. I always recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Keep up the good work
Spicy Hut – RusholmeI have eaten at Villagio on two occaisions with two different groups of friends, both times have been excellent. The staff are friendly and the service is very good. I will most certainly take other friends there in the future.
