We were visiting after 10years having had wonder memories of living in Rye. Sunday lunchtime was busy. Our server was friendly but we had to ask for our table water and only got the latte coffee after eating! We were disappointed by the food quality and portion size.

First time in here and was lovely. Service good and the food really good even though they were very busy . Very welcoming on entering the premises. The staff were excellent and very friendly . We had a roast which was great and they even adapted for a couple of friends who wanted their beef done in a specific way

A friend and I visited The Seadog yesterday to have a Sunday Roast having found their good reviews on Google. Unfortunately, we didn't really enjoy the food. Having ordered beef sirloin, which said it came served as "blush" as on the menu. It was extremely chewy, and had a large piece of fat along the back of the steak that hadn't been rendered down at all. Throughout the rest of the steak there was gristle, and it was really hard to cut as we weren't given steak knives. I couldn't eat any of the steak as it was too hard to chew, and my friend had a go but left most of hers, so we just ate the vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, which were all very well cooked. Not too crunchy, not too soft. The veg consisted of 3 Roast potatoes, half a carrot (apparently cooked in marmalade, but couldn't really taste that), some blackcurrant red cabbage (again, couldn't really taste the blackcurrant) and some Cavolo Nero with almonds. The gravy was watery and didn't have a lot of flavour. As we were sat outside, (due to not being able to access the pub as I'm a wheelchair user and there is a step to get inside) the gravy kept trying to make an escape off the plate, due to the pub being on a slope! All in all, for around £52 for a meal and one soft drink each, it wasn't great that neither of us could eat the meat, and we both left still feeling hungry. Positives: The veg and stuffing were very nice, the weather was good for October and the atmosphere sitting outside the pub and music were great.

The food was absolutely delicious, we had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Two steak dinners and two drink for £39 amazing price too. The stuff was also lovely and very inviting. Would definitely recommend going here for dinner.

It was my first time at the Globe in Rye as meeting up with friends. The waitress was very good and her maner was excellent. We ordered drinks while looking at the menu. Our order was taken and arrived not long after and it was nicely presented on our plates & tasted amazing. We ordered pudding which I ordered the bucket for 2 sharing which I managed to finish. Love that it came in bucket with a spade Brilliant. Definitely go again.

Very disappointing visit yesterday I’m sorry to say. Much not available from outside display board ie no lobster, clams, oysters, crab salad ……….. I had a prawn cocktail to start with. Meagre amount of plain shredded lettuce, barely any Marie Rose sauce which dressed the prawns, a lettuce leaf stuck in the top as dressing, one langustine, meagre pieces of bread and one pat of butter - certainly not worth the price. My fellow diner had salt and pepper squid - again a child’s portion. We both had dressed crab for our mains and it was peppered with shell, no dressing, the best thing was the chips. The service was spasmodic. Such a shame, definitely an exit from past memories enjoying delicious seafood and shellfish and certainly not worth the money.

One of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had in my life. Great old-fashioned pub vibes with friendly and helpful staff, all very knowledgeable and everything done with a smile. Generous portions and great beer selection too. The bingo was an unexpected bonus, but one that I enjoyed very much! Will definitely be back again.

One of my favourite pubs in Hastings for both the beer, service, friendly staff and atmosphere. And the food has always been quite special. The current partnership with Kismet is fab. The fiery tastiness of everyday foods, burger and fries with gusto and orginality - the curry leaves and sauce on the fries was soo good! My son's goan prawn curry was banging! Thank you for a splendid Friday evening.

Really enjoyed lunch here - great food and atmosphere, good value, friendly service. Would come back again.

excellent im coeliac and was pleasantly surprised that i could have the yorkshire pudding with my lamb roast it was delicious partner had the gourmet burger again was delicious will definitely be going back

We went for a sunday roast with our toddler. Really quirky environment and decor, staff were lovely, food was amazing, pork in particular was stunning

Had a very tasty lunch from the lunch menu which was fantastic value money. Pissarros never lets you down. Looking forward to returning. Service was friendly and efficient
