Fantastic food. The best we have eaten in a long time. Making great and surprising use of familiar ingredients. If we return to Pembrokeshire we will certainly come back to this restaurant

Always enjoy visiting the Rhiwderin. Pleasant atmosphere and fabulous food. Really enjoyed our Sunday roast dinner. Staff exceptionally courteous. Has always had a good reputation and continues to deserve one.

Visited Pettigrew Tea Rooms for the first time before visiting Cardiff Castle and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our party consisted of 5 adults and 3 members of our party had dietary requirements which were catered for ( a vegetarian, a person with a nut allergy and a person who follows a gluten free diet). The customer service we received throughout our visiting was superb. Good selection of pastries, sandwiches and cakes on the menu to choose from. We had a selection of savoury and sweet items and every item was delicious and nicely presented. Next time we are visiting Cardiff we will definitely return to Pettigrews Tea Rooms and will recommend family and friends to visit too.

I absolutely love the afternoon tea sessions here! We are strictly gluten free and dairy free, and they always accommodate for our needs. Never had any issues so far. From cakes to sandwiches, all delicious and good value for the money as well. Staff are very friendly too. We love it!

Hostess was very attentive. Food took longer than I would have wanted (apparently a large party were in) but once delivered to the table, it was excellent. Requests for additional gravy and some additional meat on one plate that was short served were dealt with quickly, along with one guest missing roast potatoes. I would definitely go again and will be recommending to others.

Enjoyed a short break with our son and dog in tow. Slightly disappointed that our room was in need of a make over, tatty in places, but clean and large. Bed was very comfortable indeed. Food was outstanding and barman Quinn a real asset to the place, talented and very affable. Son’s room had had a make over and was nicely done and comfortable, but had poor internet/ phone signal. Would stay again.

Four of us for dinner in one of the garden pods. Although it was a very chilly April evening, we were warm enough nestled into one of the heated pods once we had the front flap down and the blankets on our knees - that's not a complaint - we wanted the outdoor experience, and it was just what we expected! The food was truly excellent - I doubt you would be disappointed with any of the dishes. I had smoked duck, followed by belly pork and we shared charred cabbage, broccoli, hash browns and carrots. Dessert was a caramely choux bun with passion fruit sorbet. The food is more fine dining than "pile-it-high", but the quality is such that each mouthful is savoured and not rushed, a consequence being that we had a long, leisurely dinner and left feeling fuller than was good for us. We were somewhat confused over the coffee... we thought we were ordering an irish-style coffee but were served a cold hazlenut cocktail, which was delicious, but a puzzling end to the evening. The service was very attentive, headed up by a very sweet, young european man who was wonderful but a bit self-concious of his limited english amongst chatty englanders! It wasn't cheap.... think £60-£70 a head (with drinks), but it was worth it for a special occasion. Not our first time, and certainly not our last.

My wife and I, having lived in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) bewteen 2013 and 2014 were excited to discover a restatuarant offering authentic Malaysian cuisine....... particularly 'Beef Rendang' which is my wife's favourite dish which she had enjoyed a number of times in Madame Kwan's in KL. Unfortunately what was served at Happy Lok was not authentic and my wife had to ask for the dish to be changed to an alternative. Beef Rendang is a dry curry with beef cooked very slowly to tenderize it and allow the spices to penetrate and served shredded. HL served up large pieces of tough beef in a wet sauce! My 'Pad Thai' was OK but nothng special..... no interesting vegetables and flavour was underwhelming. My daughters sweet and sour chicken was excellent as was the service. Service attentive with a smile and the Beef Rendang dish was readily replaced with a vegetable curry which was enjoyed. We ate early due to attending a show so the restaurant was very quiet.

Have been here for many times. Always satisfied us on the tastes. We have tried the prawn fried rice this time, very delicious. Thanks to the chef for his good skills. The service of the young girl, I think she's a U student working there. Very considerate and having good manner and smiles.
