Lovely atmosphere and staff
The Ship Inn – MacclesfieldFirst time was on Saturday 4th June for lunch. Food was lovely and worth every penny but the atmosphere was glum to say the least. No one smiled, no cheery greeting, it was just a miserable atmosphere. If it had felt happy and welcoming it would be perfect but unfortunately it was rather depressing so we won’t be returning.
Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonNice food, ok service, food well over priced! We started with the nacho sharer, it was £18.95 and I expected much more for this price. The dip bowl was only enough for one person and the nachos would have cost a pound in the supermarket. My husband then ordered a steak which was £22.95, I thought was an average price until the waitress said it didn’t include any chips or sauce, who would just order a steak with no sides. A glass of coke was £5 and then when we asked for the bill there was a 10% service charge added on top! We like the place but will not be visiting again anytime soon at those prices!
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyFantastic Italian restaurant, great Roman food with good menu options, makes a great change from the normal menu offered at (Italian) chain restaurants… The owner is very friendly and provides great service at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterThat was a best meal yet at Lilac Cottage and we had a few Food service ambience first class Disappointing one diner brought her Corgi in to the restaurant allowed it to bark and wander on a long lead - but hey that’s not the fault of Lilac Cottage - that’s simply a selfish attitude of a local resident
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWe all had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
The Ship Inn – MacclesfieldSunday roast was beautiful as usual and then roasties wow! Only thing that disappointed us was the Yorkshire puddings,I’m sure they used to be home made but these were frozen and reheated so not very good at all get the home made a back!
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortWe visited Panama Hatty's on Wednesday 31st May to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday with two other family members, and from the minute we walked in we were treated excellently. The gentleman who greeted us (so sorry did not get your name) showed us to our table, then he and Ella served us throughout the evening. Just after we arrived I asked if a taxi could be arranged and the response was, "Leave it with me Sir.". Drinks were ordered, we weren't rushed into ordering our food, but when it arrived it was simply outstanding. In no particular order between four of us, ribs that simply fell off of the bone, chicken wings the like I have never tasted before, salmon, a Claypot with fish, mussels, prawns, and sizzling beef Fajita. At 9pm we waited for our taxi which did not arrive (even though they said they had turned up!) Problem? No, again the gentleman rang around various other firms and got us another taxi within 20 minutes. In a nutshell, our experience at this restaurant, along with Ella and the other lovely gentleman (again sorry we did not get your name), topped off what had been a lovely 60th birthday for my wife, and I cannot fault it, it's a 5* from me.
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleyEvening meal at this beautiful hotel. We’ve been several times and had our daughters wedding venue here. Top Class service with delicious freshly cooked food. Lovely place to eat, relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff. Thanks
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordBeen here before and the service and food was the usual great.
Birchwood Spice – WarringtonAfternoon tea. It was delicious, beautifully presented, service excellent, and can I say the scones are to die for. A lovely end to an afternoon. Highly recommend. Thank you.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordWe visited the restaurant for our 20 year anniversary, and was delighted with the food choice , it was outstanding, The staff are very friendly and attentive, we will definitely be returning in the near future .
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldVisited for the first time in a while this week, and as ever Bacchus did not disappoint. The food is excellent, especially on the fixed price midweek menu, accompanied by superb wines. I was especially pleased to see the service hasn't changed either, with exemplary attention to detail and a warm welcome as always - notably superior to many other restaurants. Highly recommended, and I would never hesitate to eat there!
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldLovely afternoon tea, very well organised. Thank you
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordIn our opinion, the best restaurant in the area. Very reasonably priced for meals that are always a bit different in terms of ingredients and choices. The chef never fails to come up trumps with the menu and we love the fact that it is regularly updated - great for returning customers. Staff are friendly, courteous and attentive. We would highly recommend a visit.
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldWe had afternoon tea on a day there was also a wedding however we were still made to feel special, the food was delicious and surroundings were lovely
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordAs usual food was of a high standard, we loved it. Service great, enthusiastic & friendly. Thrilled we have this great restaurant on our doorstep, we are so lucky
Antalya Bistro – Ellesmere PortWe recently visited for bottomless brunch on a lovely sunny Saturday so we got to sit outside. On the whole, the experience was great. Delicious tapas, great service from the staff, unlimited fizz and although the bottomless brunch is for 90min, we were able to order another bottle just before our time ran out and we spend another hour sat there enjoying the afternoon. The one and only negative - and its really small - is that the only outdoor space they have is right on the main road so it's noisy and can sometimes be quite a chaotic junction. It's no fault of the restaurant and they're using the space they have available to them well but it's definitely worth noting if you're wanting to enjoy a quiet coffee in the sun!
