We've had recommendations to go and finally made it, where we weren’t disappointed! Friendly staff and great food-menu is varied but hit the spot! Will happily recommend and we will return!

Lunch with friends is always a pleasant experience here. The set menu is good value and delicious. The staff are always polite and attentive and the restaurant is clean, excellent all round!

Four of us had a lunch at The Plough. Nice place, but has music on constantly which is always a minus for us. Food and service were good and good value.

Highly recommended 3 very good courses served by excellent staff clean and tidy . A real restaurant the way they used to be , a credit to the owner, will put it on our regular restaurant to go to. James & Rowena thank you for a memorable night.

Went for lunch with a friend and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I had the quiche and salad and it was delicious. Well presented, good size portions. Didn’t have to wait too long for the meal to arrive. Reasonably priced. I recommend a visit, however I suggest you book a table, it gets very busy.

I had lunch at the Alvanley Arms Tarporley with friends, and the pub is lovely, with a nice big car park, the food was delicious and hot, which is fantastic as most pubs only seem to serve warm food these days. The only negative is it was understaffed, the pub was reasonably full, but unfortunately. But there seemed to be only one person serving the whole pub, therefore the waiting times were a little longer than we hoped, also when you did ask her for something, sometimes it would be forgotten because she was so busy, she also seemed a little stressed obviously with her being rushed off her feet, and therefore we didn't receive the happy smiley service you would expect.

The food was delicious and can’t fault that. But it was a Saturday night there was 7 of us and it wasn’t busy but we felt that the staff wanted to rush us. They kept asking were we ready to start and we were still waiting for 2 people to arrive and we weren’t booked in for another half a hour. Also through the night constantly hovering around etc and we all felt that they wanted to finish up and leave. If it had been busy and they needed the table I would have understood but I feel they wanted a early finish.

Food absolutely spot on and the service is first class. Nothing is too much trouble.

We visited for Sunday lunch - was excellent, as always. It’s great food and great value and def recommend. We visited again a few hours later - for coffee and pudding. It’s not the first time we’ve done this - too full after the lunch, but a trip to take our son back to university, unpack etc and drive back, means we then have the space to enjoy pudding while trying to stay awake on the comfy sofas. We will definitely be returning.

Immaculate, friendly service; great quality food and drink; smart venue; and popular! Set lunch menu good value for money. A favourite.

Came for the first time with our family for a birthday meal. It was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Can't recommend it more highly!
