Lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. I have been going to this restaurant for over 35 years and good to know that it is is still run by the same family.

Excellent food and nice relaxed atmosphere. Fish and chips were delicious and a good size. Butternut squash tagline was equally good as a vegetarian option. Have been before and will definitely be back.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it opened in 1986 & good to know it is still a family business. The staff are friendly & very efficient. Food is always excellent, great atmosphere in this delightful establishment.

A very enjoyable meal, staff very helpful, quick service. Recommend garlic mushroom starter, and walnut and Stilton salad was extremely tasty. Chicken fajitas are always good there, and The Pecan Meringue to finish was just amazing!! Will be back again next week x

After a bit of a rough time and very rare night out what a place to eat! Food was amazing! We had set menu and then a pudding as we couldn't resist! So much choice! The best meal we've had out in a long time! Couldn't fault the staff, service or food at all! Wish we could come back again the day after! Definitely visiting again soon! Very well needed treat!

Excellent as usual food and service supurb

We had a lunchtime booking for a gathering of 6 family members to celebrate an 85th birthday . We have been several times before and are always very pleased just as we were yesterday. Thank you for putting candles on the surprisr birthday cake, it was a very thoughtful touch.

Took a friend for a birthday lunch. Food was all delicious and all hot. The pie was smaller than it used to be ...but that is a BIG plus as it used to be overwhelming. This time perfect size and really tender. Also meant we had a tiny bit of room for pudding - again perfect. Thanks to all at the Plough for consistent tasty lunches.

Our second visit and first for Sunday lunch. Loved it last time and once again the food was excellent and service just the right amount of attentive. The staff are clearly well trained, knowledgeable and work well as a team.

The food and service at the Alvanley Arms are always extremely good. Lovely friendly staff and value for money. Can’t beat it for a family meal. Thank you

Went for a roast and my companions , one had chicken which was great , the other vegetarian and had vegetarian sausages as an alternative to meat , not what you’d expect on a roast and I had beef which was tough and disappointing. However, the veg were well cooked , plentiful and the roast potatoes were fabulous!
