Great food and outstanding hospitality from superb staff.

Fantastic spot, beautiful cocktails and very tasty food. Staff are very polite, friendly and efficient, wonderful atmosphere, highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Had a meal here 29/6/2026 been here often , but felt a little under whelmed if i am honest , i had fish and chips , pretty tasteless , staff were lovely atmosphere was ok . Menu has been cut down i was looking forward to muscles but no longer on the menu and desserts at £9.95 were ridiculous for a lemon meringue, cheescake and two other lack lustre choice

We were visiting St Ives for the weekend and decided to stay 2 miles due to lack of available accomodation. The Engine Inn was the nearest place for food and drink so we decided to make a reservation for Saturday night. It's a lovely friendly establishment, the staff were very welcoming. There was a good crowd in which was made up of locals, visitors and people that were there to see the Band that was on. There is a varied choice of menu and the food was very tasty and well presented. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely return.

It was our first visit, and we will definitely be back, the staff are very attentive and very welcoming, and the food was amazing! Loved the atmosphere, thank you olive tree, well worth the money.

Superb food and great service as ever….,have been coming here for 18 years.

The staff and service were very helpful and friendly. The avocado and smoked salmon salad was rather disappointing as the bowl was swimming with water. The salad had obviously been washed and then just placed in bowl without being spun (or dried). On mentioning it to a member of staff I was offered a free drink.

Good and Bad Starters were good - mains not so much. Partners main came out missing prawns which we had to go down and ask them to add. The grilled squid was as rubbery as it gets the roasted croutons were bits of stale sliced bread that look like they were leftovers from a previous meal with a dash of balsamic thrown on for good measure. Asked them to remove the service charge (which they did) and mentioned this was due to issues with the meal, they didnt seem to care

We booked a table at the Olive Tree thinking that it would give us, if nothing else , a much needed respite from the really hot midday sun. Wow! The food was excellent, well worth the money, smashing atmosphere and really attentive and polite staff members.

I booked a table for dinner on a Monday evening for my two boys and myself. When we arrived it was quite quiet so we was given a choice as to where we would like to sit. The barman was very polite, friendly and attentive and gave us the menu. We ordered three main courses at the bar (fish and chips, gammon and sirloin steak) The food was served in good time and the quality was excellent. The food was hot, served on hot plates and was obviously freshly prepared. After our main courses we decided to have dessert ( apple crumble and custard, Eton mess and homemade sticky toffee pudding and custard) yet again the quality was excellent. One small criticism of the apple crumble would be that it would have been nicer served in a dish as was the sticky toffee pudding. It was served in a small square dish leaving no room to pour the custard, so I had to use the plate that the coup for the eton mess was server on. Overall it was pleasant surprise to get such excellent food with good service at an affordable price.

I have been following these guys since they started renovations and when they opened and couldn’t wait to try it out. I have to say it was superb. I had specials monk fish starter and ragu and my husband had the same start and a burger. It was cooked beautifully and the service was excellent. Lily looked after our every need. She was lovely. We will be back.

Lovely place to eat with a nice atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. Unfortunately, food wasn't to the same standard. Seafood linguine was quite dry and rather tasteless which was disappointing, particularly at £28 per portion.
