The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalReally enjoyed all our food here, great flavours and quality and extremely well cooked, especially my partner’s steak pie. We did feel it lacked atmosphere and welcome though, although individually each member of staff was pleasant enough, especially a young waitress who made an extra effort to be welcoming.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickAnother visit to the Pheasant inn in Keswick and we enjoyed a beautifully cooked, delicious dinner served by friendly and attentive staff.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had a nice meal overall. However, we were told when ordering that there was no more tofu, which was very disappointing as the vegan tofu dish was the reason we booked a table at this restaurant. My husband found his dessert (lemom posset) scrumptious, and the waitor was friendly.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat meal, as ever!
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmere5 star
Pheasant Inn – KeswickExcellent meal, very good pub fare. Good portions and very friendly service. Definitely recommend.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe felt well looked after from the minute we booked. We were sent a timely reminder; we were served drinks and nibbles outside at our request on a nice summer evening while our main course was being prepared; and all our needs were met. In keeping with such friendly and professional service, the food was divine. We felt it was on a different level from most restaurants where we have eaten. The menu is imaginative, the portions good and the quality exceptional. We are only sorry we don't live in the area as we would become frequent patrons. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithEnjoyed Sunday lunch and breakfast at The Wheatsheaf. Staff extremely helpful and unobtrusive. Food was delicious. Stayed for one night here and would highly recommend, the room was extremely clean and comfortable, thought of everything, including earplugs should you be a light sleeper, as church bells chime throughout night. Highly recommend for either eating or staying at this establishment. Will be back.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a lovely relaxing meal meal last week (w/e 27 July 24). We both had the prawns to start with, followed by the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection. The services was efficient and friendly.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood nice, service efficient. Moderate prices, scallop dish small portion for cost of £13.00 but overall food was good. Nice wine menu too.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithExcellent food and service my partner commented the Gamberoni al pomodoro was the best she had ever had
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleAlways amazing food with a warm welcome and excellent service , highly recommend
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithAnother great meal at the Pheasant Inn. The Lakeland beef pie is second to none, and the sweet menu finishes the meal off wonderfully.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely food as always. Very friendly girls. Definitely the place to go in Carlisle for an authentic Italian meal at reasonable prices.
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleThe food at the Glen Rothay Badger Bar is absolutely amazing. HUGE portions, fantastic choice. Have the Chicken Supreme if you can!
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalWe were in the Lakes for our anniversary, and chose the restaurant based on existing reviews. It truly lived up to its reputation. The food was lovely, a nice range of choices and the deserts were also unusual and tasty, not too sweet on top of the other great courses. We were pleased to see, as we were leaving, how busy it was, but we hardly noticed it fill up. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. We had a lovely evening, thank you.
