We visited the Pheasant early evening and we had very good meals, one seafood pasta, the other was salmon. The staff were very pleasant.

Pheasant Inn – KeswickOur food was absolutely fabulous. We go to The Pheasant each time we visit Keswick and we just love it there.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe returned this week for another Sunday roast. Delicious!! We'll be back again at the first opportunity for excellent food and great service.
Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsLovely Sunday lunch with the little one and my parents. Service was quick despite being busy. Food enjoyed by all and colouring thoroughly enjoyed by little one. Only complaint was that smokers smoke right outside the door, which is open, bringing smoke into the eating area.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe booked ahead for our daughters birthday and honestly the food was a big disappointment….. we were given the special menus and there were no roasts available. My husband had the soup which was loaded with a salt taste. Had the steak and mushroom pie which he said was taste less and watery gravy. I ordered the Parma chicken and was really awful, was over cooked big chicken burger and left 80% of it! On the whole our group booking no one was impressed by the food and service given. Was not cheap either
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithWe visited Grants this week, and had a lovely meal, yet again - we've never had a bad one there. Our choice this week was Sea Bass, and Mushroom Linguine. Both were excellent, well cooked and tasty. The staff are great, friendly, and can't do enough to help make your meal and experience something really special. It's always busy at Grants, for good reason - it's a great place to eat when visiting Penrith. Thanks again to everyone at Grants, and we'll see you again soon.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithDined with my husband on saturday 9thof September another fab meal could not find fault with anything first class restaurant organised so well by Jane and her lovely team best place to eat would highly recommend to every one I would give 10stars if I could thanks to all
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleExcellent throughout. Really enjoyed the food, service etc . We are returning shortly and would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely fantastic as always
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe ate here two nights in a row. The first night we both had belly pork which was lovely. I asked if they offered a single person cheeseboard as my husband did not eat cheese, but they said no. So I declined a final course, but my husband had a desert and everything was very nice. We went to pay the bill on our card and the server asked if we would like to leave a tip, which was not appreciated as we always leave a tip in cash on the table or in a tip basket. However, on this occasion we did include the tip on the card, but I felt it was very rude approach. We returned the next day and had rack of lamb which consisted of two tiny, rib bones of meat, a very large potato which was not completely cooked, 1 carrot and some sprigs of broccoli. At £27.00 this was overpriced. We both had a desert, but we were both still hungry. Consequently we did not return for a third night. Overall pretty average and if this restaurant had more competition they would need to up their game with customer service and consistency with quality of food.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAn excellent meal. We shared olives and bread for starters, both had roast rack of lamb, and then the bakewell tart and the eccles cake with ice cream. It was all delicious in a friendly, relaxed environment.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDon’t like to submit a negative comment. Positive their local beer was excellent my main was super (venison). Had a large Labrador with us and had to put him in car as lack of space ,waited 35 minutes for our deserts . We had to leave as dog left in car

Harry’s Cafe Bar at Yew Tree Barn – Grange-over-SandsWe had a lovely meal at the Pheasant. The food was excellent quality and the portion sizes were generous. The venison bourgingon was particularly good. Great choice of ales too.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWhat a find. The meal was outstanding. The scallops were
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food was excellent, without having to wait very long, service was pleasant and friendly. Lovely and cool in the pub area a welcome break from the stifling heat.
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithFirst time eating here and it was an excellent discovery. The food is the main reason to come here, and each course was superb. The scallops starter here were as good as I've had at a Michelin star taster menu, cooked perfectly and so soft. The main was a little unexpected, by that I mean it was larger than expected, which was a good thing. Seabass was beautifully cooked and the vegetables were plentiful. I still had room for dessert and both the choices at our table were really good. For service, the gap from being seated to our drinks order being taken was a little long but apart from that really good service all night. The atmosphere was also really good for a bistro in a village, had the more formal dining feel but not pretentious in any way. I also liked that dogs were allowed, we didn't have ours but I feel this is essential in the Lake District with everywhere expected to allow them (this was helped by the dogs in there being very well behaved). We will definitely be returning here next time we are in the area. We ate in the Daffodil hotel the other 2 nights (which was very good) but this meal was the best we had this week.
